Howdo!
From a rust point of view I want to get a long lasting finnish. So do I powdercoat or use rattle can red-oxide primer then colour? Or perhaps you can use redoxide then powdercoat over the top. I painted my old wipers before with hamerite rust remedy then standard primer but its got slight rust round the hinge because I couldnt strip it completely. This time im grinding the pin out trying to do a better job.
In the pic on the left is a cast aluminium part that has oxidisation on the inside. To the right is a steel part that seems quite prone to rust.
(On the left part Obviously because its aluminuim thats not rust its just rust that is stuck in the paint.)
