Has anyone tried using a polish with added colour together with an electric polisher, I was thinking of getting one of the two handed jobs rather than a simple attachment to an electric drill.

The body colour is dark blue and shines up reasonably well but has a few surface scraches and a nice keyed white line running the length of the car, bless his hooded little head

Use that polisher an youll have even more scratches!!BIG NO NO USING POLISHERS!!

Rotary polisher will bring the paint back to a nice shine - NMT60 I've not had this problem that you describe using a rotary buffer it is not a big no no in my book - sure if you use an aggressive polisher you could leave buffer trails but follow up with a less aggressive polish to remove them. Keep the polisher moving and start off with a soft mop while you gain confidence.

Forget the colour enhanced polishes that is just marketing bull. Something like a colour restorer polish and Autoglym Super Resin Polish would be a good starter.
