My wife has a 95 Barchetta.

The temperatur out door here is around 0 now and it seems like the temperatur on the engine doesn't reach normal.

I assume the temp. signal is out of order, or we shall have to replace the thermostate.

So my question is, where is the thermostate placed?

interesting one.

I just got my B (hooray!!!!!!) and the oil temp never seems to get to half way unless you are in a city stop and start situation.

Should I be worried?

The Barchetta sits naturaly at the 1/4 or just over.

As for the first post does the guage move at all or as above? if not it would be the sender unit. Themostat simptoms are very slow to warm up and poor heating if stuck open or normal running initially followed by quickly overheating if stuck closed.

It does move a little, but very little.
It's my wife's car , I have hardly ridden it.So I can not tell for sure if it was any better during the summer.
I guess I have to take it for a spin and perhaps let it go on idle inside a warm parking house. I guess I should se it move then.

A couple off months ago I had the same problem. After replacing the thermostat (=modified: plastic interiour is now metal) the problem was solved. Costs about EUR 50 (excl mounting).
