The doors beep when you open them: so I suspect more than just the sensors have been added.

It means the car isn't in Park ;)

Sounds good, very strange that its a 999cc SPi Selecta though!

I shall have to investigate when I see it in the flesh at somepoint, unless its a cross over? Has it a twin coil pack setup

You nutter :p I had a feeling you'd go for it if it was clean. Get Vernon to put a 4x4 camshaft in it and you might a able to keep up with us 1108cc owners (y)

I recon you paid £200 for it? I haven't had any rum for a few years so mines a bottle of Cubas finest please :D

Here is (provisionally) Henry (explanation to follow, if I stick with this as a name....), in all his glory...! :D

The driver's door doesn't stay open, on its own; and I have a feeling that this top hinge may be the reason why....

Also, at some stage, one of its four former owners has had problems with a leaky back window. It doesn't appear to have affected the inside, though.

No clues as to the engine size, on the back... -- but I really do wish they hadn't riveted on that little handle, underneath the lock. This is the first of at least five superfluous holes that will need seeing to.... :nono:

Here are the other three....

At least the doors are healthy... (y)

...although, as I said above, there's obviously been some sort of repair to the passenger one.... :(

The rear arches, etc. also look (and feel) pretty solid... :slayer:

...and make up for the fact that the car has three times the mileage that Betty and Pippin have individually covered....

Here's the interior, anyhoo (and if anyone has a matching driver's seat spare... -- yes, please...)!

It has speakers in the back panels... -- which I may eventually supplement with front ones... -- but, generally, the car, inside, is rather unloved... (although a deep clean should remedy much of this...). It also features some padded additions to the inner door handles; but I don't know what the red button/light is, where the choke would 'normally' be; and I presume the white light down by the ignition is to do with the reversing sensors....

And, Jon, you were right: the car was in neutral, when I first opened the door...! :worship:

Stupidly, I didn't take any photos of the engine compartment.... :bang:

Oooh I do like the colour (y)
Washer jets on bonnet however (n)
Same year as Char' and similar millage, I think this is the highest millage Selecta I've seen though

That last bit does worry me, I have to say. If it all goes pear-shaped, I shall simply(?!) get VmanC to drop a manual in.... Currently, all seems well. Driving the 50 miles home might prove otherwise. I shall have my AA membership card clutched tightly to my chest....

The washer jets will be one of the first things to go...!

Looks lovely! Such a nice colour me thinks (y)
What a bargain at £230 (Cuban rum please) + Mot :D
I think you need to use (y) for higher and (n) for lower while we're
Guessing what you got it for (y)

All I'll say is that you're getting warmer...! :D

I don't think I've seen this colour on a Panda, before. What with Pippin and Jasper (am I thinking of the right car, Palio...?), FIAT seem to have covered the whole gamut of what can be construed as teal or turquoise....!

Yes Jasper's the blue mk1 (y)

£275 and Henry the 5th?

Do I win a Panda??!! :D

Well done on finally buying the car you should have bought first :p

£250 quid you say! How cheaps that! (1 litre of GL3 please :D).

You win...! Order yourself a bottle; let me know the cost, and somewhere I can PayPal the money to...! (y)

And you're right! But this wasn't around, before, was it...?! :p

You've already won one... (albeit 1:43 scale...)! :D

And you're almost right with the name... -- I thought KNGH, King Henry: especially as I'm about to book tickets for Henry IV parts I and II, at the RSC, next year...!

I suppose, as my third Panda, it should be Henry III... -- but he was a right bad'n.... (n)

And, even if the engine or gearbox proves less than reliable, I'm actually deeply chuffed with the price. I bought Pippin and Betty because of their low mileages. This one, because of the bodywork. The automatic-ness is just a nice bonus.... :)

Anyone know of a good Selecta specialist, by the way...? ;)

Ah ok - thought it would be V as there are already IV in your sig!

Don't get to Henry VIII or there might be a very modern twist whereby it's you beheaded by your wife forsooth....

I fear this may happen sooner rather than later....

And I do like the V idea. 'Hal' is a good name for a Panda, methinks...! :slayer:

Well done Stephen, you've finally got there. (y)

What's this about me converting it to manual if the gearbox packs up! I plan to always keep Bo an auto so can do the same with this one, you wouldn't be saving anything by changing it. Incidentally, Bo is over 80,000m and still going strong so your mileage won't necessarily be a problem.

I had one this colour for a short time, swapped it for my Mk1 :).

Thanks, Vernon! (y)

Whatever you did to Bo, when you took delivery, I think will need doing to Hal, too. Poor thing has been unloved for a while... -- and I therefore think it may well be paying you a visit before Pippin....

Anyway: we shall see what the MOT reveals (fingers crossed...); and then I shall try to find the source of that oil leak (if it isn't revealed in all its splendour on the way home... -- and turn out to be why it was SORN'd...); and then service the heck out of it....
