Panda (Classic) Calling Dragonman!

My god it has a bid......

Ok, with prices going the way they are I want all my old pandas back... Oh, and Bob, Poppi is not for sale....

it's an offer, not bid,
that's how it works, all of those recent articles in magazines are contribiuting to price going up - those two sisleys currently awaible on ebay are good examples.

lol thanks for looking out for me. heh i just posted that up!

heh its miles away from me and would cost me a total of about £800 to get it here. meh thats money i dont have. ive actualy given up looking for a panda. well i keep looking to see if some one has put one up for next to nothing. af far as my budget goes i could only afford around £500. and i would have to cover everything with that.

with my car insurance dew its not worth me getting one, heh and since i am the UK's most unemployable man it seems i wont get one for years. on top of that the price of 4x4 pandas keep going up i just really think that i have just left it too late to get one. i could kick my parents for not letting me get that 4x4 sisley last april for £600. it had all the extras, low miles and was tax and tested for 10 months. and worked out cheeper to insure than the car i have now! guhhh ill never understand why not.

the only way i'd ever pull off getting a panda is if some one local tows one down to the scrap yard while i'm down there and i offer him twice as much if he takes it round my house.

heh owning cars is for the rich.. ill never be a rich man the world says i just dont have what it takes.

heh it would cost me god knows how much to insure it for the day. if its got no tax on it thats another £175? (thats what my cinqs tax is)

its just not worth me doing it any more. i spent loads of money building the pit thats still not complete. bought all the stuff, just my dad who can brick lay is putting it off.

heh ive just got to the point where i can see life is going to make it as hard as possible fr me to get one, so why should i bother. the car i have now works. and i guess i should be thankful for that. lets face it.. if it had been up to me i would of never done my driving test as i just classed it as a waste of money.
funny thing is, for me it actually has been a waste of money as the only resion why i did it was to help me get a job.

if things dont get better i will be selling my car to try and get back some of the money. that i still owe back to my mum and dad.
ive already sold everything i own of value to help pay it off.. job center £100 every 2 weeks barley pays for food. really glad i dont smoke!

sigh depressive times, thats only going to get worse.. nothing like looking to the future.

Tempted myself. I want another Sisley

Looks like my old one, and I don't know why, but I've a feeling it's not as rotten as it looks (although probably is).

Dragonman where the hell did you get a price of £800 for delivery from? I'd look elsewhere could probably get it done for around £150-£200 (y)

around £300.. £800 is my cars renewal quote.

honestly mate, if i had money i would not be in the position im in now. as it stands i have £600 to play with. thats it. if i use that, ill have no money to help pay off my insurance. ok thats only 4 weeks of job seekers. so in another 4 weeks time i will have enough money to pay off my insurance. after that i will have nothing. no money what so ever. not even enough left over to MOT my car.

thats why ive given up with it. it was a dream.. something that ive wanted to do from a kid, and thats all it will ever be. i cant do anything untill i get a job, and with ther only being full time jobs out there if i was to get a project i would never have the time to do anything on the car with me working full time.

when i had the corsa i went through the same thing. it got to the point where my dad was getting pissed off having it round the back as i didnt have the time to do anything with it. so he made me sell very fast which made me loose about £700 on it. the same thing would happen if i got a panda.

i love the fiat panda over any other car on the road, but i'd rather let some one who has the time and money restore one over me where i'd just not have the time or money.

we will see what the future holds. its all i can do.

Sorry mate, don't get me wrong but i'm really strugling to understand what you are saying about situation you are in.

No job -> no money -> no panda -> no dreams = bad
Full time Job -> no time for panda -> no Panda = bad

belive me each single one us is doing full time job or even more, some of us are having more then one panda, families, their other cars other projects and a lot of day-to-day duties!
So for God sick stop complaining how hard live is, that live is geting more and more expensive, we all know that!!! No body said it will be easy, stop complain and get a life.
All the best

by the way: money does NOT buy your freedome, freedom is in you.

Life is always hard, and you're bloody lucky if it gets any better!

Money and time are two things that you can never seem to have both of.

You said there are only full time jobs out there, I don't know your situation, but if there are full time jobs within your reach, why are you on unemployment benefits?

From here you look to be in a good place... I could be wrong but from what you've said I'm guessing your folks loaned you money to pass your test and get a car on the road... I had to fund everything myself, as so many others on here have. I would have jumped at the chance of a loan from my folks!

i want any job, i dont care what. even one im going to totally hate.
my problem is my skill levels, every one on here says its nothing to do with it when it is. i have 6 really low grade GCSE levels. i dont really have any experience other than being a sales assistant.
my last job i was working part time 3 to 4 days a week and i liked it at first. but they started to add more hours. then a extra day, then another day. more hours. then there was a bit where you had to stay behind until around 12am keeping in mind your pay stopped at 6:30 to add more stock. you were ment to get "time back" but you never got it.
one day i made the mistake telling my boss that it was getting me down. and the next thing i knew i was being layed off.

since working there ive not been in work. over a year now. you'd think when i attend a minimum of 2 job interviews a week one of them by now would of taken me on. these are for really bad jobs too, i was even refused council work as my skill level was too low.

as for how things are at home, the central heating is on tap mode only. we cant afford to have it on any more. restrictions on anything electronic is also high. i am now only using my netbook. my desktop has not been turned on for quite some time.. in fact the video i did of the pit was the last time i had that on to upload it. were having to cut back on food buying only the cheapest of the cheapest stuff, and trying to make it things we wont have to spend hours cooking as that costs a hell of a lot as we dont have a gas stove, its all microwave and electric oven done.

a lot of my money that i made went to my mum and dad. some i saved up. but in the year of me being out of work thats all been used.

i did have a bit of good news this morning though, i had a letter from the job centre saying that job seekers is now £56.25 a week so that will help a bit.

thing is though, its not like i sit on my arse all day doing nothing. i dont have any mates to go out and about with, i'm never down at a pub (i actually hate pubs/nightclubs).
i am always out down town going around different places asking for work handing in CVs. but i know they just go strait in the bin.
tell you the only place i have not tried yet and that is the local McDonalds. couldn't think of a more hellish place to work to be fair, but the way its going hell i'd take a job there.

My brother swept the floor of a factory in the middle 80's.... He now is a Project Manager and was responsible for building the most expensive apartments in the world, and is at present building the first six star Hotel in the UK.

He earns in excess of £80,000 a year.... This he has done through hard work and further education. While pushing that broom he made a choice.

He left school with grades as bad as yours, but made things happen.

My story is very very similar.

I have always said to my children that you must take any job. This not only helps when it comes to applying for future work (being employed in any job always looks good on a CV) it also gives you the chance to meet people who may be able to help you move on.

My children have all found this to be of benefit. Being in the right place at the right time has meant they all have very good jobs. As an example my eldest made cardboard boxes. She now is in charge of credit control for a international company.

My youngest left the UK just before Christmas and flew to Australia with a work permit lasting a year. She had no job to go to out there, but has within a month got one! This she did all on her own at the age of 19!

So what on earth is wrong with Mc Donalds?

Your other option is to move. There are plenty of jobs in bigger cities in the UK offering accommodation working in Hotels. So go to collage and get a qualification in hospitality. Plenty of people from Europe are doing this so why not you?

Oh, and learn to use capital letters!

I own a company and recently spotted someone working in my local petrol station. He is very good at his job there. So good that I am tempted to speak to him about working for me.

heh i rang up Mc Donalds this morning to ask if they had any work but they have no open vacancies. I am off down the job centre after i have had something to eat to see if they have any training courses i could go on. Its been a few weeks since i last asked.

Another member on the forum has PMed me some advice that i was quite thankful for.

I know it will all turn right in the end, eventually i will get employment somewhere.
I am sorry by the way this thread has gone, i was just in a bad time.
Its just so frustrating when you know you can do the things employers want but some little bit of paper stops you.

What Purple-haze says is dead right, you've got to make you're own luck. I became ill and was subsequently made redundant I spent over a year looking for work but in the end it was doing unpaid voluntary work that got me back in the system. I'm still not fully fit and am doing a job I would never have seen myself doing a couple of years ago. Having said that I love the work and the people are great. Come on Dragon man you say you're the most unemployable man in the country, I dought it there are loads of us out there with varying problems and abilities/disabilities but who ever said it was going to be easy. You should be thankfull for what you've got, I can guarantee there are people out there quietly going about their bussines in alot worse a situation. Hope you don't take this wrong I wish you all the luck in the world but please try to look for the positives.

Best Regards Antony

Oops just seen the post above good to see your feeling more positive already :)

Thank you Antony. I too did voluntary work in the early 90's. This was to help with a change in career and within 2 months I was asked to apply for a full time position. This I got and I then qualified as a Social Worker...all this was because I targeted what I wanted, then proved myself and gained experience.

I went on to manage a team within Social Services. All this from voluntary work.

Thanks man, it means a lot.
Last night i actually went out and enjoyed myself in god knows how long.
Nothing much, stuck the radio in the car, threw the aerials on the back and sat me self on the tallest hill i could find for a few hours. Well.. about 6 actually.
heh i didnt do much with the radio got a few calls into the states, but the conditions went great. When i got back home i felt so much better though. was glad i didnt sell the radio.

I am open to any advice people can give me, and i am very thankful for it.
Thanks guys.

I hope you don't think I was having a dig with my last post... its hard for most people out there, my works very rough at the moment, we only switched on the heating last week, and even then it was just to stop the flat going lower than 15*C, and only when we are in. All our food is value or reduced. It just seemed a bit odd that you PM'd me about buying my Panda 4x4, and here your saying you've been out of work for 12 months and can hardly afford to eat!

If you've gone through 12 months of having 2 interviews a week, either the job centre is sending you to the wrong jobs (which wouldn't surprise me), or you need to brush up on your interview techniques!

There should be a few 'interview technique' books at your local library... its always worth reading through them, you might find you are giving the wrong answers or impressions...

As said, volunteer work is often a good foot in the door, as is offering to work a few days for nothing, to show you are a good worker and hopefully land you the job.

Can you get funding to re-do your GCSEs? Be careful with qualifications though, I was refused loads of jobs due to no paperwork, so I put myself through hell and racked up debt, and now I'm over-qualified...
