Has anyone else had problems with their air con (specifically climate control)?

Mine recently made a strange hissing / leaking sound from behind the dash and consequently the air con stopped working..

Had to wait an eternity for the "new international standard" air con gas and machinery to be sent over from Italy (apraently) to have it re-gassed.

Still not working. No compressor trip-in and a very stuffy cabin.

Just wondered if everyone else's seems to be working optimally? If not you may have suffered a similar problem.

I can see why you mentioned you're getting disappointed with the 500X in the other post now! The hissing sounds like either a sudden leak, or just the noise some systems make when they're running out of gas. I'm guessing that's why the dealer has tried re-gassing. I think it's standard practice when re-gassing, to put a dye into the system to check for leaks, so I'd imagine now that the re-gas hasn't worked, they can get onto diagnosing which part in the system has failed rather than looking for leaks.

One or two Alfa owners had new cars with failed air con pretty quickly, and I had a brand new MiTo courtesy car that the air con didn't work at all in, so I don't think your problem's unheard of, so try to keep the faith!
