I managed to have an altercation with a pheasant at 60mph earlier this week, consequently, the off side DRL unit is now loose, having been pushed in by the impact. The car is a 2017 with the larger DRL units.
As the last service the garage had to reglue one of the units into place (I cant remember which one) - how do you access the DRL? via the wheel arch I guess, and how exactly is it located. presumably its sealed in with sikaflex?

any tips ?

They are bolted on with 3 bolts. You’ve either broken one of the 3 lugs or the reinforcement part which holds the bolt receivers which are bonded on has come loose. It’s a bumper off job I’m afraid.

There's room there for a line about removing the feathers from certain game birds, but I'm not touching it!

Yes

I don't think it will fail it as DRLs are not a necessary item. The same as a shredded rear wiper blade won't fail you. It will most likely come up as an advisory though.

Is the main beam in with the drl on the newer cars ? That could be an issue, on cars registered after Mar 18 they must work.
