Hi ,

I am having some problems after replacing a 64 Fiat 500s ECU set,

I replaced the door lock, ignition lock, key, engine ecu and fuse box in passenger footwell as a full set together.

After replacement there was a few lights on the dash and the odometer was flashing so I borrowed a diagnostics unit and ran the proxi alignment which aligned 3 nodes and fixed some of the lights / odometer flashing. I didn't take a note of what nodes it fixed unfortunately.

After this the ABS light and tyre pressure monitor light stay on, I checked the codes and C1213 System configuration is showing in the ABS section.

The parts that were replaced had all the same main part numbers as the original items I believe, certainly the main numbers I checked at the time of purchase that they matched but I may need to double check any other numbers.

When I checked back the car is a Dec 2014 Fiat 500s but the ecu set is from a March 2015 500s.

I cant think that the car had tyre pressure warning before changing the ecu set that we had noticed and not sure how to tell this, It looks from online search these are battery sensors inside the tyre / wheel ?
If this is the case how can I check and could I retrofit sensors to the wheels to fix this part of the issue ?

Next issue is the ABS system configuration, I believe some of these ABS and TPMS systems can be interlinked but i'd imagine the issue is more than missing TPMS sensors ?
Would the ABS ECU be different for a tyre pressure warning setup though ? What could be the cause of the error code and what would be the method to rectify this ?

Also on another note is it possible to purchase a new fuel cap barrel to match the new key or could I swap key chips, I just changed the ignition and door lock without thinking as they came with the set.
I asked the local Fiat dealer who said they don't sell petrol cap barrels. I have the previous car details to give them to match but the local dealer wasn't interested.
I later wondered if its just a chip in the key then possibly I can use the original key set and just change the chip over ? This would save me having 2 keys with the car in future.

As a background the car was a water damaged car nearly 4 years ago and the fuel gauge has never worked properly below 2/3 full. The gauge would work normally when the ignition was first turned on but after 30 seconds the gauge would drop to zero. Over the 2/3 mark everything worked normally. We believe the fuel tank was at 2/3 when the car was flooded.
After replacing the ECU set the fuel gauge works perfect !

At the time of repairing the car we had to replace the instrument cluster as well as the blue and me ecu but otherwise the car only needed a strip down and dry out, replace all fluids, underfloor soundproofing and empty any voids that had allowed water entry.

I stay near Aberdeen in the North of Scotland and not sure where I would need to take the car if I have to get someone to look at this - Would it be a standard autoelectrician or would this need to be a specialist of some sort ?

Thanks ,

Just realised I didn't say why I was replacing the ECU set, The car has been fine since the flood damage repairs and the replacement ECU is only being fitted to rectify the fuel gauge issue.

Thanks for the comments,

to update all,

I temporarily gave up until I found a solution so put the old ECU back in and to my disbelief the fuel gauge issue has disappeared !! Everything is working as it should be working quite strange but not complaining.
