Very excited to be collecting my new (3 months old, ex demo, 1500miles) Twin Air S 105hp on Sunday morning. It has a great spec, including 16inch alloys, electric sunroof, Apple CarPlay, leather seats, satnav, Beats sound, rain and dusk sensors and bi-xenon headlights. It's my first Fiat 500, and I'm coming from a Renault Clio 0.9 which I thought would be punchy, but isn't in the slightest. I made sure I test drove a 500 TA 85 (that impressed me massively) and then did a 200 mile trip (from London) to test drive this one and was even more impressed that I ended up buying it. My partner has a Tesla and we do lots of road trips, so really wanted something that would be fun and kinda exciting to drive. My plan for Sunday after collecting the car is to drive through the Peak District to visit my mom in Shropshire, then back to London on the M40. I saw the weather forecast suggested snow for the weekend, fingers crossed my driving plans aren't scuppered! :D

I'm sure you'll love it. Definitely a quirky and fun car to drive. Ours is a TA 105 Lounge and we really like it. I love the way it suddenly starts leaping forward when the turbo spins up (around 3500 revs) and I swear that within its max power band it's quicker than our previous Suzuki Swift Sport. It certainly feels it. Get your foot down, keep the revs up and it goes like the proverbial s*** off a shovel!(y)

That sounds lovely! Hope you have lots of fun and love driving this weekend.

I have a 1.2 500 for daughter and it is great, and then people keep posting about this Twin Air big hp one.... Oooh! Maybe....

Well that was an exciting weekend! Arrived in the Peak District during a raging snow storm, was quite worried I was going to get snowed in and not be able to collect the new car... in the morning, the hotel owners had to dig my car out of a drift and they used their 4x4 to create a track up their driveway so that I wouldn't get stuck - so nice of them! And once off the local roads, the main roads were completely fine. Collected Freddie and decided to drive to Shropshire to see my mom, even though her road was also snowed in she lives just off the M54, so it was actually totally fine. Then I drove back to London, had some snow on the M25 (I live in Surrey), but otherwise a smooth journey.

Loving Freddie the Fiat 500, he has so much power compared to anything I've driven before (except the Tesla of course), I was in Sport mode the entire time and it drives very well on the motorway. I love the weight of the steering. I thought I would try taking Sport off when I was near home and the steering was a lot lighter, so I can see the benefits and when I might use both.

Need to get used to having 6 gears, and I need to read the manual now as auto-lights confused me a bit, I think it put the side-lights on but not the headlights, so I had to put those on manually. And I found the front and rear windscreen washers weren't working. I checked the fluid levels and they were empty (which was a bit disconcerting given the car is only 3 months old and was supposed to have had a thorough going over by the dealer), I filled them up (there's also a reservoir for the xenon headlights I think), but still not working, can hear the pump working, so don't know if there's a blockage or something, but will have to contact a local service centre, but it's not taking away from the fact it drives like a dream and is everything I expected/hoped it to be :)

If they just had water before in the pipes may have been frozen. Washer fluid these days has strong antifreeze properties so get some in. The Xenon washer reservoir is next to the battery and only works when the lights are on. Makes sod all difference to all but very light grime on the headlights though!
