I just purchased a used 2014 500 pop this last week. I already love it. :D

A few days after I purchased it I tried to charge my cell phone and discovered that the power socket/cigarette lighter doesn't work. Easy fix I thought, replace the fuse (f15). However, it didn't appear to be bad. I replaced it with a known good fuse anyway. No Joy :(

Next I got out my volt/ohm meter and checked the socket. No power as suspected. I then checked for voltage at the fuse block. No power at the fuse block. The fuses on each side of it have power.

Any Ideas what it could be? Is there a relay some place to check. A software setting? Did I check the wrong fuse? Can someone share a relevant wiring diagram, please?

:bang:

Note too relay 31 controls the lighter socket

I also have my 12v socket not working. I have replaced fuse F85 (15v) from the diagram above and that has re-illuminated my USB port light...

However the light ring around the 12v is still not illuminated and it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to remove the trim so i can check the wiring?

Lift up the cup holder rubber bit remove the nuts(front and rear ones) remove the small bit in front of the hand brake and remove the nut well down with the help of some blu tack, remove the two screws in the central consol, remove rear section first then front , job done, socket light only works with side lights on check supply and earthing and bulb

It’s quite tight on the wires when you remove the centre console. You can push them out from underneath then remove the centre console allowing you better access.

Thanks, I'll give it a go later.

There's also small aluminium spacers that fit in the plastic trim stopping the nuts crushing the plastic (you'll see them once the nut is removed ) these can easily come off especially when refitting perhaps super glue them in place as they can be a pain, lazy bones would just let them dissappear.

OK, so i have finally got around to removing the trim and the wiring looks good so guess its just the socket. Are there any traders that sell replacement ones on here?

Also not sure if there's a better quality socket that can plug and play as the standard one doesn't seem very well made to me.

Thanks

Did you test to see if there was a good earth and live feed? its highly unlikely to be the actual socket, sometimes the adapter is not long enough to get to the base of the socket.

I replaced our power socket with a "lighter socket" version that also includes illumination wasn't quite straightforward I needed to make a spacer ring and sort of seal it all in place using silicone but it all works fine.
Used one like this but in orange; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sumex-12v...616083&hash=item3d4d67e190:g:CnoAAOSwQcJZ-eHS

I have in the last week bought a 2015, 500 Pop , the central 12v electrode was covered in some gunk and appeared somewhat corroded. My USB charger didnt work unless I wiggled and jiggled it a bit. I scraped around the base of the 12V outlet to clean it up a bit, then folded a piece of aluminium foil to make a disc several layers of foil thick and about 8mm diameter. I then stuck this in the centre and tapped it down with the end of a screwdriver. Now the contact between my USB charger and the positive (central base) electrode is good.

Whilst this may work it's a bad idea it only takes the foil to move a few mm and the socket is shorted out, better to replace or replace with a twin port usb outlet?

Thanks for this info John, checked the sidelights and they were fine but no rear lights!! rear lights are fine with headlights on, any ideas?

Could you be confusing the daylight running lights for sidelights? If switched on in the menu the DRL's will be on whenever the ignition is on and they are in the same light housing, in fact in the same dual-filament globe, as the sidelights!

Sidelights will come on with the headlights while ignition is on and without the headlights if turned on after the ignition is switched off.
