I've ordered my new 500- going for a convertible for my second little car! And- I've got a question for all the 500 convertible owners on forum...
What's the inside of the boot (or trunk!) like? I see it's the same size- I see the lid is hinged differently. What I want to know about really is what's where the parcel shelf is? (& can you imagine how dinky a parcel would need to be to fit?) I've got a little net underneath my present 500 parcel shelf for my eco reusing shopping bags (saving the world one plastic at a time!) and two clips to hold an umbrella- I'm wondering if that 'space' & surface is going to be there to use in the new car?
Thanks!

Ps how do I subscribe to forums? Can't see a button on my mobile site acces! Thanks!!

The top of the boot space is the same size(ish) as your present parcel shelf. You can't put anything ON it as that's where the roof sits when its down. You could probably fit some hooks if you tried real hard, l suppose.

As Scout says the top of the shelf is out of bounds, the glass rear window sits on it. Underneath it is a piece of standard trim but in the centre of this is the nut for manually operating the roof so there is a mechanism between the top and bottom layers which you wouldn't want to interfere with.

I want ot fit a strip of LEDs on it to illuminate the boot (more effectively than the almost useless standard boot light) but until I can figure out how to remove the trim I'm not sure how to proceed.

Thank you- it's underneath I was thinking about- in the boot itself? I guess if there's a mechanism in that shelf type area the glass goes on and the umm ceiling shall we call it of the boot I can't attach these- so it's down the side of the boot wall lining I guess?

Yeah- boot light is a bit of a glowworm with a hangover like! If you do the strip- share the info- I'd be up for that mod!
