Hi.
The rear window demister on my 500 is not working. The little light on the dash does not come on when I press the button either.

I have checked the fuse and it is OK. I changed it for good measure. But it is still not working.

Does anyone please have any suggestions?

Hi. It's a 2010 convertible.

500C in which case the wiring is likely to be damaged at the hinged rear section of the roof.

Oh dear.

Is that a possible DIY fix?

Depends if you are comfortable with using a hot soldering iron next to a cloth roof...........

Hi , another quick check is to make sure that the roof is closed fully . Heard that if the roof is not completely shut the heated rear screen and the boot will not work . Worth a check first

I simply opened and closed it a few times

It's always annoyed that there's no clear indication that it is open or closed. The car is forever beeping at me for failing to do something else so it seems an oversight there is no warning for the roof!

When closing the roof I tend to hold the button for an extra second after I hear the loud 'click' that seems to indicate it's shut, but I agree, a warning beeper (or light) would be much more welcome than that damned seat-belt warning!

Boot will open with the roof half up, not needed the demister with the roof down or half up yet
