General Maser, anyone?

I can't decide whether I like that or not and without any other opinions yet posted in this thread I don't know what to do. Could someone else post their opinion so there's something for me to argue/agree with please?

Quite like the Maserati red – it is in stark contrast to the Scuderia red in the ‘tribute to Ferrari’ model. Interior is nice and light for when the roof is ‘up’ and overall the ‘package’ works and looks sophisticated. It might even come in a little cheaper than its racey brother. It would be an enticing secondhand buy. In another couple of years we may well be ‘running’ E85 but at least with the turbo you would be able to take advantage of the increased octane of the biofuel.

I had a Maserati 3200gt 11 or 12 years ago, great car VERY fast.
Servicing was subsidised Buy Maserati but still cost £1000.
They look very cheap now, under £10,000 for a car that cost nearly £100,000 with some options.

They were never the most reliable car. You would need deep pockets to run one.
I had the manual gearbox it was a BMW 6 speed but to be honest you are changing gear every couple of seconds if I were to buy one now I would go for the auto.

I personally like the colour, but "Pontevecchio Bordeaux".......really? Couldnt they think of something better?
OK, perhaps I'm being a bit harsh here, after all most of the 500's colours are Bi-Language (sort of, if you consider the Dance names), but mixing the name of probably Italy's most famous bridge with a French wine region kind of grates on me.

I'd still have it though!

It's a bit too Cygnet for me.

Speaking of that, I saw one in Athens a few days ago. I wanted to cry. It is so obvious it is a Toyota IQ.

A key difference between the Cygnet and the 'Maser' is that Aston Martin applied their style to it.

Looking at the most expensive car recently at 1.7Million for the Aston Martin 177 model (it is a 'thing' of beauty with all its high tech 'light' structure). I couldn't help thinking that the days are numbered of lusting after cars that average 10mpg. If you could afford to pay for the fuel would your conscious let you ? It's a little ironic that a Supercar styling is being applied to an 'economy' car. Reminds me of vegetarians who eat food that looks like meat.
These cars are marketed for individuals who have the 'real thing' as a little town car. Can't see they allowing the OH to drive it to the shopping mall.

Give the Cygnet 20 years and they will be a super rare expensive classic car. I like them..then again I like quirky cars.

I never said it was great
To be worth something, a car needs to have at least some greatness. YOu need only look at 80's and early 90's Maser's to realise that just because they wear the badge doesn't mean they're worth anything
