Picked up my second 1.2 Pop on Sat. Initial impressions are the handling much improved over earlier model. I had an early car in 2008 and was so disappointed with the driving experience, it was no fun. The new car is actually good to drive (as well as look at!). My advice is then if you are an enthusiastic driver try to get a 2010-2012 model believe me its worth it.

How did you manage to buy next year's car this year?;)

I quite agree that the newer models have a better ride quality though. Suspension is much more forgiving.

In some ways though I do find the basic nature of our 500's suspension quite a lot of fun as well, the understeer going round corners over 30-35 mph makes you think you are going much faster than you actually are! :D

thanks for comment, most cars sold in second half of year are following years model year, in this case the car would be unchanged and its meaningless. I think I found the old 500 lacking in steering feel. For a better explanation of model changes see Honest Johns review on his website. He states that the changes have made the car equal to the R50 Mini.

yes, but there isn't a 2012 500 yet.......

Quite possibly true Maxi, but you can forgive the confusion when people like Broadspeed say there is: http://www.broadspeed.com/new_cars/Fiat.
Of course it's just a silly marketing ploy. It makes it seem newerer (sic) and therefore more enticing. I mean ask most people if they want an MY2011 or MY2012 car and you know what they're going to say. I'll have the cheaper one thanks!

Lol that made me choke on my deep fried mars bar.

I've only ever had a couple of deep fried mars bars but I think they're fantastic. Especially when they're fried in the oil that the fish was fried in. A warm slightly fishy tasting mars bar really can't be beat.

I know some will gag at the idea of slightly fishy chocolate but in practice it's fantastic and no different in concept to chocolate with a bit of chilli in it :)

Speaking of Mars Bars I LOVED these when they were on sale in Australia :)

People might think we're sad for discussing cars on a forum, but there's a thread on a forum about these particular Mars Bars. :D
