Hi guys, I was driving my 500 last night and this morning and the message 'Warning Sign' came up on my display. No other lights were lit up. Half a tank of fuel. Oil temperature light up to half as always. I've looked in my handbook and it says if the (!) sign and on some models 'warning' comes up to contact my dealership. So I've sent him an email but thought I would see if any of you guys had had this problem and knew what it was. Especially seeing as I'm not getting the (!) sign, just the message.

Please help!!!

It's worth checking all the bulbs on the outside of the car for starters.

Is it a warning light like this /!\ if so thats the general failure warning light if your 500 has stop start that might be why this has flagged up. My car pretty much permanently has this light on.

I did wonder if it might be the little spot lights on the front that are always on. I will check at lunch time if they are working and all the other lights. It just seems silly to say 'warning sign' it would make more sense if it was giving me a clue as to what it is warning me of wouldn't it.

You would think so would you. although having said that one of the times when i got that light on when my airbags went faulty it came up in the centre bit saying Warning Airbag Fault.

Hmmm so maybe it is just my car that seems to be being vague with me then lol. I'm worried about driving it home, if it is something serious I don't want to make it worse.

I do have stop start yes but no I don't recall the exclamation mark just the message. I've just been reading on fiat.co.uk forum that there is a big start stop problem with the warning sign. I didn't know if it would be the same. Have you had yours back at the dealership then?

The dealer has had my car back 3 times

Recall Software update, Airbag Fault, Cat 1 Alarm Fitted and each time they've had it back they've said they've fixed the stop start problem as well and each time within 10 mins of driving it, the start stop warning lights come on. ive given up trying to get it sorted because i doubt fiat know whats causing it. even their courtesy 500's have the same problem lol.

I'm hoping he doesn't take 4 days to reply to my e-mail like usual lol. I hope your problem with yours gets sorted though. It's not on when you buy a new car is it, everything should be right. It's so frustrating.

Do you mean your salesman? Because (i) he is not the person you need and (ii) he will not care!

Forget email. Pick up the phone, call the service department. Tell them you want to pop it in for them to take a quick look at whenever suits you. Be polite but firm and remind them your car is nearly new.

Well obviously you can, but without being unduly rude to Fiat salesmen, they are "incentivised" to sell cars and have little reason to prioritise your problems experienced after handover.

A good one will help you of course, but all he will do is to pass it on to the oily people, so you might as well cut out the middle man.

Yeah I understand what you mean. Luckily I have a friend who works on reception at the dealership so I can contact her and get it booked in as soon as.

Really, I wouldn't bother, as others have said...... check that all your exterior bulbs are working. Including tail lights, numberplate lights and so on.
