First my car had these, By Diesel 16 inch as it left the factory


Then I upgraded to these
17 inch Abarth Petal wheels


And now I have gone for it and got a set of these
14inch steel wheels


Yes I have got them for some winter tyres...

Luckily the weather forecast for Sunday looks good.

I will have something new on the car for sunday!!! and it's not the wheels.

Never a dull moment with you around, looking forward to guessing what part is new.

Why did you go for the steelies?

But the wheels are horrible, are they just for winter use or something, is that the idea? This is a private joke right?

Read all of the post. At the bottom I say they are for winter tyres.

They're not "horrible" as you put it. Horrible is a crappy set of Wolfrace alloys from halfords, these are just not quite as nice as the other wheels RUI had on. I have a set of the same wheels for winter use and whilst I prefer the car with alloys on, it certainly doesn't look horrible. That said, if my current job goes permanent I might sell the steelies on and get some 15" alloys.

Wow, you're an opinionated one aren't you? Walk up to a pop owner and tell them that their wheels are terrible and I'm sure you'll be greeted with a swift kick to the genitals.

Anyway, silly worthless opinions aside, what tyres are you planning to fit Ian?

As you've probably read on the winter tyre thread, I really rate Vredestein Snowtrac 3's and Andy Monty likes them too.



They're fairly cheap @ £62 each at the moment

Hold on a minute. If you post on a public forum asking for opinions, then you will get 'opinions'. I have no intention of walking up to anyone and telling them that their wheels are terrible, but if they ask me, that's another matter entirely (and I assume the original poster did at least want some sort of a reply from us).

I will post a picture of my new stereo later this week and in doing so, I fully expect to get honest opinions on what people think (and some people will undoubtedly not like it). Sorry, I don't see what the problem is here.

The problem is your apparent partial blindness and lack of taste. Whilst the steelies aren't exactly going to win you admiring glances, they're not "horrible" like a set of Wolfrace wheels from Halfords which will lose their paint within 12 months or a set of those TSW wheels you used to see a lot 10 years ago which had such a convex dish to the face that the rim was sticking out well past the tyre.

Also, RUI never asked for opinions either

Well, I might have a lack of taste (although that's subjective), but I suppose that's better than having a lack of intelligence.

No, he didn't ask for opinions...but there seems little point in posting pictures of the wheels for any other reason.
