So a few of you may of read that Fiat are not producing a 500 sport, well I now have all the details, This has come from a official FIAT letter

"From the End of this quarter, the Fiat 500 range will see a new TwinAir trim which will become the centre of the Fiat 500 selling proposition and around this, some of the other engine/trims will remain to satisfy all
customers’ needs.
8 versions will be available in the new range (compared to 11 of today). These are:
- TWINAIR
- TWINAIR +
- TWINAIR LOUNGE
- 1.2 POP
- 1.2 LOUNGE
- 1.4 LOUNGE
- 1.3 MJET POP
- 1.3 MJET LOUNGE
POP TWINAIR and all SPORT versions will no longer be available.

New TwinAir Trim
TwinAir is the answer to all customers enquiring for Fiat 500. It will be available on 2 new trims, TwinAir
and TwinAir +, and on the current TwinAir Lounge.
TwinAir and TwinAir + have been designed to attract new customers to the Fiat 500 audience.
They will represent the sporty and aggressive choice and they will be targeted to a male and young audience.
The exterior and interior look has been specifically designed to appeal to the new target. lt will feature:
- 15” QL alloy wheels (16” black alloys on the TwinAlr +)
- Burnished metal effects (as per 500byDlESEL) on the dashboard and side/front mouldings
- Spoiler
- Chrome exhaust pipe
- Sporty seats
lt will be available only with the sportiest colours (including Crossover black, Electroclash grey,
Pearlescent red, Tropicalia yellow) and some colour will be exclusive to the TwinAlr and Twin/-\ir + versions
only (such us Midnight indigo blue and Matt Black).
Price and contents are soon to be released; however we can promise you that these new versions will
become the best selling proposition for all customers, combining quality of equipment and affordable
price.
The Rest of the Range
TwinAlr, TwinAlr + and TwinAlr Lounge will become the best offer for Fiat 500 customers. They will be
available both for the hatchback and convertible models, to maximise customers’ choice.
The rest of the range will be maintained to satisfy any type of customer:
- If your customer wants a basic and entry level engine, the 1_2 Pop and Lounge will be available
o if your customers is a long journey customer who requires a diesel engine, the current 1.3 MJet
will remain available on the Pop and the Lounge trims
- lf your customer is looking for a higher performing engine to drive out of town, the 1.4 will be
available on the Lounge trim.
Logistics
In preparation to the above change, Wednesday 27"‘ of April, orders for the TwinAir Pop (mvs 031,
531) and for the Sport versions (mvs 053, 085, 056, 051) will be closed.
All orders with an OCF will be protected and will be delivered before the launch of the new range.
Details on when the orders for the new range will open will follow. You will receive two vehicles per dealer,
one for display and one for demo, details on these vehicles will also be communicated shortly."

Interesting... its a shame about the colour restrictions but we will see when they update their car configurator.
P.S. sorry for any typo's

Some very interesting moves by Fiat here. Didn't see that coming to be fair!:D

Fiat must be of the opinion that there are a fair few people out there who like the idea of a 500 Abarth but don't necessarily want to shell out for it, hence the new TwinAir/TwinAir +.

If my understanding is right then if you want a "normal" TwinAir 500 the only option available will be the Lounge?

What's ironic is that the only 500 in the range that will have a 'Sports suspension' is the 1.4 Lounge.
In Ireland the 1.4 sport was dropped in 2010 because of lack of demand - of it just simply was too pricey and the the 1.4 POP was dropped in the UK around the same time.
Looks like they'll be following the US template with few options - note that only the 16s can be got on the Sport model and 15s on the Lounge judging by the variants of the TA on offer now in the Europe.
I wonder if they're leaving room to bring in the US Sport shape with looks half an Abarth.

suspension is unrelated to trim spec, it is different according to which engine is fitted

From what I have understood from the salesman he made no indication that it was getting a face lift like the U.S. version

Hi Nicks500. It would be in the interest of a sales person to 'keep his cards close to his chest'. e.g. If people knew the actual dates that say the MA turbo as coming out on a A500 it would impact on sales for say this year until it came out. When my wife was looking for a replacement for her 147 - it was supposedly to be the Guilletta - but it's only recently arrived - it delayed her decision to buy. She opted to eventually 'downsize' to a Mito but in the meantime the cambelt broke and the car had zero value.
I have posted a thread on the US forum. TBH I don't know what's selling in the US and I would curious to know if its the Sport. Fiat had originally thought that the Sport would sell in the biggest numbers and it ended up being the Lounge & the Pop.

it's ridiculous. i'd pick a sport again in a blink of an eye just for its rear spoiler and black ambiance. well, not everyone would fancy a rear spoiler but lets be honest ivory ambiance looks like cr*p with "any" colour available.

Well I had a black sport with the black ambiance and the spoiler and when I looking to sell it to get an Abarth - I couldn't sell it. Had to price it right and waited and waited and them it sold. I didn't make the same mistake again although I love the look of the sport and the spoiler (y)...
That said I kinda like the white ambiance. 500 is unique in that very few cars offer white ambiance. As a man driving the 500 that I have, it's a bit like wearing a kilt and going commando althought you would have to be a scot to do that.:)
The person who will be buying my car will be a woman or a smart guy who knows that when it comes to resale time he wouldn't have lost as much if he bought another sport.
In the meantime I'll man it up a bit with red painted calipers a loud induction system...............

black is available on the lounge

it wasn't back then if I remember correctly. it's been 3 years since I configurated mine. anyways, I truely believe that ivory ambience should be dropped or altered somehow, it certainly doesn't work just to change three piece of trim.

I also see ana ttempt to move people away from BNW in this - you cannot have Twinair trim in white it seems.

Nicks, thank you for making the effort to type the letter out.

I am sorry DURUKAN but this maybe your opinion but I bet the sales say something totally different, and I personally like the ivory ambience.

Judging by what's been written you can get a BNW Twinair lounge?

Yeah they wouldn't do away with the most popular colour

Unless they drop the only colour that isn't an extra cost, and then add another £260 to the base list price... ...seem to remember something similar when S/S became standard:(.

Hope FIAT marketing aren't reading this, in case they think it would be a good idea to make everyone pay for something not everyone wants... again...:bang:

The Gara White on the A500c is extra. I think the grey comes free.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see a charge being levied for BNW.

The 500 is Fiat's pride and joy in their range at the moment, and to be honest I think there will be further significant price rises to come IMO.

They really cann't charge for a car being painted. Otherwise we'd all end up with rusty cars :) only joking. At the moment in Ireland with the scrappage deal practically over the garages are doing cash deals. With the discounts that you can get your scrap car is only worth €1,200 on a 500. The price of the 500 cannot increase - it's pricey for what you get compared with its competitors who are offering some amazing warranty deals. Anyway manufactures don't expect to make money on selling a car its the servicing and the follow bits afterwards is where the money is made.
