Hi guys

As the little 500 approaches another birthday Fiat generally does a little tweak of the 500. The C was launched around that time (although later delayed), IRRC the TwinAir was officially announced around that time, possible Start&Stop (Via the Pur02 also) so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of anything due for the 500 this year?

I know in 2012 the 500 gets a facelift (I'm hoping watered down USA spec and not Punto Evo!) but was wondering if this year had anything up Fiats sleeve. Perhaps ESP as standard on all models, apart from the Pop? New colours? Or will it simply be the Gucci and the Coupe available to buy?

I'll leave this open for discussion then (y)

production of zagato is already confirmed and yes it's very very ugly. in fact, the only good thing about it is the 105hp twinair engine. I hope it's not going to come only with zagato since I was planning to replace my 1.4 with a 105hp twinair model. I also want it with TCT, then it'll be perfect. :D

It won't be cheap and it's ugly.

I dont think it is i kinda like the wierd shaping of the roof and how the back slants even more, i reckon it would look even better in tech house grey or black give it abit more of an evil stance.

and i know they'll probably be out of my budget brand new but im definitely gonna one once they've been out a year or 2.

You don't get it, they'll be expensive and exclusive so will not really be dropping hugely in price in a year or two. Do you know how much it costs to set the tooling up for that roof?

The roof isn't "weird" either, it's a double bubble roof which is the Zagato trademark.

Why you getting so wound up over nothing lol.

and no i dont know how much it costs but tbh if after they've been out for a while i still cant afford one so it be it, its not the end of the world, people are allowed dreams you know

When I saw the picture of the new 500 zagota it reminded me of the time that I had a Lancia Fulvia and the zagota was out - or should I say - when it came to my attention. I thought I'd like one but when I saw it in the flesh it didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if they're rare because no wanted them or if there were marked as a premium model & were too expensive.

You'll notice from some of the comments that history appears to repeat itself with remarks of it being ugly.
I'd imagine that Fiat will make a 'good go of it' and will have learned from past mistakes. The design will have to result in some benefit over the standard 500 shape and the suggestion that they will 'keep' the 105bhp TA for that model along with all-round disc brakes and 'sports' suspension will probably come true.

Was talking about the Zagato concept with a friend today and remembered the posts on here.

This is a prime example why we shouldn’t listen to stupid rumours from media sites. I really did doubt that this would ever be made and if it was, how horrendously expensive it would have been.
