Hi this is jayne the car owner
had multi spoke 16" they were a pain to keep clean. I know they might not be everybodies cup of tea but they are so so easy to keep clean. The ride is a little harder and there is bit more tyre noise but the car does really look great in the flesh. Any get togethers in the west midlands?

Not for me. You have lost the look that makes the 500 so appealing - almost heading for a 'chav' look. Just needs a big spoiler and drainpipe exhaust to complete the picture.

Others may love it though - just a personal opinion.

That looks gorgeous, great price for the wheels as well. Very nice. I'm sooooo tempted to get a set now. :slayer:

thanks for that

Is this before lowering? The car looks a little odd in this picture, as if the suspension was lifted to accommodate, but then in one of your later pictures (parked up on the kerb) it looks loads better as the suspension looked lower.

I reckon they'd look great if you got them sprayed or power coated anthracite...

Also, how much did the springs cost you? I want to lower my A500 as it sits far too high, especially at the rear, and I want to improve the handling. Did you fit them or did you get them fitted?

its before there is a post with five pics of after. Apex springs cost £98. hubby and i fitted them boxing day.Rears very easy to do but the front top suspension nuts were extremely tight rides a bit harder little bit more tyre noise. As for the colour have seen them in white gold and look great on a black car.So may go that way when they need painting. Just waiting for my chavy hat to come now if thats the price i have to pay for being different. Glad you liked it anyway. Cheers jayne.

i just lowered my 500 30mm on eibach springs (running on 17inch alloys) the whole kit was £140 delivered to my door, contains 4 springs and 2 front (smaller) bump stops

its quite an easy job to do your self but you will need to make or buy or borrow a tool for getting the nylock nut off the top of the suspension strut, fiat for some reason though it would be funny to surround the nut with a big cupped washer, making it impossible to get a conventional 19mm spanner on it, other then thats its easy

as for ride, its done exactly what i wanted, got rid of the wobble when cornering and just made the whole car feel a bit tighter

Have asked many questions about lowering and have decided to fit Eibachs(to lower by 30mm).Been quoted £320 to supply and fit by Elite in Rainham,Essex to include wheel alignment. This seems a lot to me as i can buy the springs on line for £135 including delivery.Anybody know someone cheaper in East London/South West Essex? Suggestions welcome.

No clearance issues (apart from only one annoying speedhump!) I don't think 30mm is alot tbh. I have 15" wheels and the optional fiat sideskirts and front and back lower spoilers also fitted, which I think must add a millimetre or four.
