Hi,

Our new 500 is on it's way (hopefully within weeks, if not days), and we've got a hairy dog, which we intend to chauffeur in the back seat.

We're struggling to find a nice dog car seat cover, like a waterproof blanket that covers and easily attaches to the back seat somehow.

Does anybody have such a thing, or know a good place where (preferably online) we can get one from?

We've tried Pets at Home, but they only seem to have a dark green one, which doesn't exactly go well with the ivory and blue cloth interior.

have a good search on here because I think this quesition was asked before and someone posted a great tube like thing that kept all hairs and dirt contained or a hammock type thing that again looked great - neither would make our Dame/Mastiff cross fit in one though :)

all those cover things seem like a good idea. there was a previous post about it somewhere on here.
however i have a little westie so thankfully he's not to messy, although i'm paranoid about claws and that woven check fabric. it looks like it'll snag easily. i think i might make a cover myself, to fit perfectly, with some form of waterproof backing. i guess it helps if you can sew really well.:D

I definately think what type of thing you should get depends on the size of your dog. For small dogs I know you can get little pop up tent carriers, Suzey on here has a tunnel/tube that's very similar. I have a 28kg Keeshond who comes with me in the car sometimes, we bought him a hammock (hooks over the front headrests and over the back headrests, or just tucks in down the back if you don't have rear headrests) and that works great for us. It even has little velcro bits so you can still use the seatbelts - I got it from a pound shop for £6, so I don't know where you'd get one online! :( I know Tesco do a cheap hammock though.
