A turbo kit for the 1.4 from Fiat seems most unlikely. Let's look at what would be required -
And that does not include all the special new hoses, clips, connectors etc. Plus the cost of fitting it all. To be able to back all this with a decent warranty as well would surely make the whole thing far too costly. Look at the fitted cost for the EsseEsse kit for the Abarth 500, where you get a lot less than my list above.
- A turbocharger
- Exhaust manifold and new catalyser
- New induction system and airbox
- New inlet manifold pressure sensor
- Probably new injectors
- Either new pistons or special thick head gasket
- A new ECU
- An intercooler (and where would it go?)
John
You forgot to emntion that the cam is different, the conrods are not up to it, the crank is different and the block is internally different. And the Abarth 500 has got 2 intercoolers.
Fiat would not risk it.
