See your 'before' pictures where the car is filthy? Mine gets like that every single time I go to work now. :( There's a building site just up the road from where I now work and it's always wet and muddy all over the roads nearby.

I have the same problem, country lanes from the motorway to the office, which are usually covered in poo!!!! The moment it get's wet it only takes a couple of days to look awful.

The plus side is that as he has a good 3 layers of Zaino Z2 on he cleans up pretty easily, the dirt just falls off when washing.

Good idea! I've got 2 layers of FK1000P on mine, the cheapo option! :p

Very nice Mark.I like the attention you give to detail. What is that zaino thing? A polisher? It seems to do a lot of work

i've had my car for 8 months now and i find the colour(pasadoble red) to be kind of dull. Not as shiny and glossy as it used to be.Is there a product to help me give my car it's confidence back?

Mark - if you think yours was dirty, you ought to see a white one! Someone at work asked if i'd swopped my car for a brown 500! LOL. In hindsight white wasn't probably the BEST colour to buy from that point of view, but in the summer I shoudl be ok lol

Lovely cleaning of your car by the way.

Very shiny Mark, have to laugh at those little brushes you call Envy Detailing Brushes... Ive been using them for years on my cars and they are actually brushes sold for applying hoof oil to horses, about a £1 from a tack shop:) Jenny put me onto them as they are great at getting flies off the front of anything.

How dull does it look exactly? And what have you been using to wash it?

If you've been using a dirty old sponge or a carwash then the dullness could be caused by swirls in your paintwork failing to reflect the light correctly. If it's just generally dull a decent polish might be worth a shot.

To keep the car protected in the future you should apply a 'last stage product' after cleaning and drying it, it will protect the paintwork against UV damage and other nasty things. Some products, especially the sealants like me and Mark are currently using for the winter weather, can also enhance the shine and glossiness of your car aswell as offering protection.

If its a non-metallic red it will eventually oxidize to dull pink though, won't it?
I've never seen an old red car that hasn't dulled-out, often sooner rather than later. I dare say lots of applied 'product' will keep it going longer though, and parking out of the sun.

Ive seen red ones looking very dull, but get close up and its obvious people have just been washing them and never applying polish.

But my car's nearly six years old and has only had polish applied mechanically, in the car wash, very occasionally - and it still gleams. It's metallic blue. If it was non-metallic red it would be pink and flat by now. I know what you mean, but waxing a car is just too much like hard work for me.
I just stick it through the washer every week or two, or four in summer, and that's it. It looks fine too with nothing much in the way of fine scratches.

But that little 500 came up beautifully.
