If you do, your 500 is soon to become even more unique! :D

Fiat announced yesterday that they are discontinuing three "low absorption" colours (that's unpoplular ones to those of us that don't speak fluent Marketing) and replacing them with two completely new (O.K, pinched from other models) ones...

So, if you are the proud owner of a Jive Blue, Calypso Orange or Punk Grey 500 be happy in the knowledge that with immediate effect there will be no more built (for the UK market anyway) in your colour of choice

What are the replacement colours I hear you ask???

New Orleans Blue and Electroclash Grey.

(Waits for cries of uproar from 100HP owners outraged that their unique colour is now available on a 500 1.2 Pop! :p )

Fanatastic news for me... but tbh I think the two replacement colours will look really pants on the 500, good on the Panda but thats it.
Only thing is, Fiat cant match the colour on Calypso now, so lord help us in a while. Even the touch up stick is miles out!

eeekk, you say from immediate effect, we ordered a Calypso Orange 2 weeks ago that is due to go onto the production line 1st week of November - I presume we will still get it as it is already ordered?

anyone any ideas?

In a similar boat here, my replacement Jive Blue Pop is due to be built this coming week.

I'm guessing they are just stopping taking orders.

LOL, I think youll find the two free colours were intoductory offers, now its just white:(
Thinking about the new colours, why another dark blue? Already have Mod Blue, seems a bit daft.
Its a real shame, as three retro colours have gone and been replaced by boring common colours, same happened over time with the Panda. However, I think a grey in Lounge spec with red leather and ivory could look pretty chic.
On the other hand, imagine a std. sport in grey... all that black interior in a dull grey body:(

Never heard of "introductory" standard colours before... how many other manufacturers only do a car in one standard colour, where all other colours have a price premium? Thought all cars came in a couple or three standard colours included in the price. Or am i hopelessly out of date?

Well i stand corrected then! when I bought a new Tipo (good few years ago I admit) you could have red, black or white as a no cost colour, and that was on the base model. Not everything gets better with age it seems! Think its a bit tight myself...

If memory serves me right. The rest of the Fiat range only has white as a free paint. All other options are special, mettalic or lenticular
Panda - Ambient White/Goa Orange/Mambo Yellow
Grande Punto - Ambient White/Rock 'n' Roll Blue
Bravo - Glory White/Tango Red
Sedici - Castlewalk White/Space Rock Red
Doblo - Ambient White/Line Blue/Paganini Ivory/Rumba Red
Multipla - Glory White/Rock 'n' Roll Blue

I disagree...
I think the new grey will look great but will have to be speced mor esporty and aggressive than retro.
...an Electroclash Grey Sport with black leather, dark tinted windows and two-tone Sport alloys will look  !

With 1 in 3 sold being in Bossa Nova, and Jive Blue obviously not that popular, why do they need another free colour?
not a savvy choice by fiat they should have charged for white and given away another colour.. in a business way of thinking that is:rolleyes: i got white it was free i'm so happy hee hee heee. ( insert comedic coment here ).
