Can anyone explain what the sport mode actually changes when it is in use.
It changes steering weight,acceleration and engine tone but what is actually happening and does it affect mpg etc ?

i wondered that about the MPG.

her indoors drives it all week with sport off, and she's averaging 38.7 mpg

I drive it at weekends, reset the B readings, drive it reasonably hard in sport and I get 41.8


she changes gear at 2500 rpm, 5th gear at 40 mph etc etc keep telling her to get them valves dancing :yum:

the sport button aswell as altering the steering weight alters the way the car reacts to the throttle input if you were to draw a curve of throttle angle at pedal and actual throttle angle on engine it alters this slightly to make it more responsive it does not affect power tourque or engine tone at all in doing this just means the car is a little more dosile around tone in normal mode and easier to drive not so jumpyo on the throttle

it will in theory increase mpg as it is using less power on the eletric power steering but then again your only using sports mode cos your driving in a sporty fasion so probably go down but only cos of the driving style not the sports mode
