Have to say that's the least elegant solution I've seen for anything! EVER!Just reviving this old thread I started when I first got my 500 to say I have now overcome the problem.
If you tap the surrounding area, i could be wrong, but it feels fibre glass or plastic (anything but metal) is this where the body has been sealed with some form of synthetic filler maybe? I'm not sure, but it makes a non metallic sound when you tap it.
Ill try that next time Im up that end of the car!

I didn't mean it in a rude way, it'll do the job but it's hardly some sort of sexy CNC machined bit of aluminium. I spent a lot of my time a few years ago around World Rally Cars and some of the solutions for even the most basic of problems were rather elegant
I didn't say your car was ugly or anything, just that sticking tupperware lids on your strut tops isn't exactly the most elegant of solutions.As for the car I own? Well your wish is my command, don't know why you'd want to know what a green 406 looks like!

Not lokely to be cheap items though. Even at cost you are likey to be talking £20 a peice at a guess. Although they will look uber cool as they'll have the '500' logo on them.

Nice one Mark, I think that you have created a lot of interest about something that when I originally posted was considered quite a trivial matter.
Mind you a lot of those opinions came from non 500 owners whereas now there are a lot more of us about.
