After fitting new headlight and dipped beam bulbs with Osram Night Breaker's the Daytime running light bulbs looked very yellow compared to the new bulbs. These bulbs are more difficult to replace as they are a wedge, duel fillament type that are normally found in the rear stop/tail lights of cars.

Because they are not normally used in the front of cars it's more difficut to find 'performance' bulbs that offer a whiter light.

The new bulb is in the left and the original on the right. The easiest way to see the difference in colour is to look at the floor.

The other mod I've made is to wire some LED lamps to the interior light.

I took a wire accross the roof lining, down the front post past the tweeter and above the drivers footwell. I then took another wire accross to the passenger side footwell.

These lights fade on/off whenever the interior light operates. This wasn't my idea I got the idea from the Punto section.

Awww man I want those footwell lights...that is seriously good! Would you be so kind as to post a guide on how you did that?

Using strip LED for the foot well is the right thing for the job.

I on the other hand used the 2 LED lamps I bought for using in the DRL's. The car thought it had blown because LED bulbs use so much less power than traditional bulbs. The display said 'check running lights' and a warning light was on. So, I had no use for them so I used them in the foot wells.

Pull down on the intrior light and it pops out of the head lining. Open the little metal door and you will see the bulb.

You need two core wire/speaker wire to conect to the interior light. I took the bulb out and trapped the wire in each side of the bulb. The bulb is torpeedo shaped with a contact at either end. The reason I have traped the wire in an not fixed it with terminal block etc, is to make it fully reverseable.

You need to then peel off the seal around the drivers side door from the top of the door round untill about pedal hight. Simply feed the wire through the hole the interior light goes in and accross to the door, down following the seal and into the footwell. When there, you need to secure your chosen LED. Using some terminal block connect the wire you have just brought down from the roof and then you need to add another piece of wire to go accross to the passenger footwell for the other light. Behind the vents there are various ways to get the wire from one side to the other.

Don't let the two wires touch whilst the light is on as you will blow the fuse.

Remember, LED's will only work when the wire is connected the right way around. If the LEDs wont light then reverse the polarity.

Pictures would be better but as I've already done it I would have to take it all apart again!

!Please note, following this could cause your 5OO to explode, set on fire, self destruct if done wrong so fiddle with you 5OO at your own risk!

Dude that's absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much for taking the time to write all that. Much appreciated.(y)

That's really cool.

Can I ask how you got the headlights changed? I've got some Xenons to install but I can't access the side lights. I think I may be OK with the main beams but trying to access the lower light cluster is looking impossible without taking it apart.

Any clues greatly appreciated.
