XIIX - yes the backrest folding lever for getting into the back of the car - the user manual isn't much help despite the number of diagrams explaining how it works - but i forgive it :)

Coming at this from a slightly different angle, She Who Must Be Obeyed has a Stilo with the same engine and gearbox. I find it (for a small engine in a big car) to give very good performance. It's quite happy to potter along at 40 in 6th but equally will rev right up to just below 7,000 revs. When you get up above 4,500 revs there's a surprisingly strong surge although it is a bit weak between 3 & 4,500.
As for fuel economy, when the wife takes it to work which is a 3 mile each way urban commute where the engine doesn't have much time to warm up, the trip computer shows 37 mpg. If I take it to my work which is 2 miles of 30
limit and 15 miles of motorway it shows 42. Recently, we had a leisurely drive along the M56 towards Chester and down the A49 to Delamere. Keeping to the 70 & 60 limits, the trip comp showed 49.6 mpg on the way there and 50.1
on the way back. The other thing to consider is that the trip on both the Panda & Stilo tend to be 10% worse than the actual figure you get if you work it out manually.
