hi,
i ordered my 500 on Sunday from the dreaded stoneacre!! I gave them my spec and asked for a few accessories to be included (chrome mirrors, chrome kit and side stripe). i have now found out that i won’t be getting these free after they have just ordered the car!!!! they have said they have reduced my monthly payments but I'll still be charged for them?? i signed a confirmation order form, the total was around £11,700, I've been told today that the total is £12,500!!!!!???

what would you advise? i really want to cancel my order, is there anyone on here who works for fiat who can take orders around the north west?

I'm fed up with dealing with the complete morons at stoneacre to be honest!!!

si

OK, its simple... go to the dealer and explain very politely what has happened again. They can change your order easily, if you wish you could remove those items... if you ordered very recently then your car wont even have started being built for a while.

There's no way the options you mentioned add up to £800.

In the same way that there's no way they would ever have given you these for free - especially when this is a new model which to all intents and purposes is selling itself.

A lesson here for both you and the dealer me thinks.

The dealer should acknowledge that he pulled the wool over your eyes and cancel the order since you don't appear to want to pay for the options. The factory won't even know of your order at this point in time.

I think you should have used the online configurator to identify probable costs before placing the order.

We're not exactly talking about a set of mats now here are we?

My understanding is that Fiat are auditing all the orders and the dealerships are not allowed to discount at all, even by giving stuff away. They require sight of the signed order before they will order the car from the factory.

The finance agreement is nothing to do with Fiat, so the dealership may have reduced the interest rate that they charge to compensate for the discount agreed.

Make sure the total amount payable section of your two quotations match and you have got what you are asking for, just done in a slightly different way.

I would probably have helped if the dealership had been a bit more 'up front' about it, but on the face of it they are trying to get you what you agreed to buy at the agreed price.

Cheers

cheers :)

i'm currently trying to get the info on exactly what they've ordered, they are being cagey, its not a lot to ask is it? reason being, there demo 1.4 sport in red had the 16" multispokes on and i was told that these come as standard to them (stoneacre) from fiat. i asked if they would be on my car and they assured me, i just want to make sure before its too late. bloody stoneacre!

well, i managed to negotiate with stoneacre, ended up with a deal and an officially ordered 500!!!

i got: 1.4 sport in pasodoble red, with 16" multi-spokes, chrome mirrors, chrome kit, white stripe and red calipers which i got thrown in for free.

least i got something for free, next time i'll be cautious by overzealous salesmen!

i can relax a bit now :)

That doesn't make much sense.

Are you saying you are paying for a base 1.4 Sport and that all the other options are free?

Nah, just the calipers. To be honest I don't care about getting stuff free, I was just a bit anxious that they might have messed up my order because they didn't really have a clue about anything 500 related...I was obviously the 1st person at that particular branch to order one, if not then shame on them! Just looking forward to my car being delivered, hopefully for my b'day in April :D
