Work

So after buying COD at about 00:01 on Monday :p I played it all night until about 6:30.

woke up at 12 ish played until about 2. Then decided to email my old boss.

By half 3 I was sitting at my old desk:p

working here until X mas at the moment no helpdesk crap:D helping develop IT/Marketing.:)

:ROFLMAO: at that.

So what happened again? Did you quit or get the sack?

Got my last pay slip through from my old company. It's £400 short:bang:

They were going to deduct 1.5 days for extra holiday I had which is fair enough. No way does my 1.5 days holiday come to £400!

I have asked them for a detailed breakdown of what has been deducted.

I don't want to have to but think I may have to look in to legal action:) After speaking to a few people it seems the way I was suspended wasn't 100% legal. I had no warnings and was just escorted out the office straight away.

Any thoughts?

Yep. Custard is bang on. Companies start to behave themselves a bit when ACAS become involved, because then everything HAS to be done by the book.

Quite often the company is told to seek legal advice to clarify their own position which can help them realise they fooked up in the first place

Were you paid monthly, fortnight in arrear and fortnight in hand? On this system if you leave during the second fortnight you will owe them anything up to 2 weeks pay because they have in effect paid you up front for those 2 weeks before you do any work. Its a popular way these days, my employers use it and whenever there is a departure those concened sometimes struggle to understand why they owe money.

I was paid monthly and got told I will get a months pay minus 1.5 days holiday.

Got that in writting?

Looks like they have given you a months pay...less what you owe them. What date did you leave and on what date do you get paid? Did you leave in the fortnight after you normally get paid?

I am pretty sure I ahve it in writing at home(y)

I cant remember all the dates off the top of my head. I went to a meeting about my suspension and at the end handed my notice in where they said they will give me a months pay in lieu. minus 1.5 days holiday.

Right new year so new start ish.

Really liking the idea of uni! I have had a **** year and to be honest there is nothing persuading me to stay around at home! no job no girlfriend all my mates are away at uni etc.

Where do I start with the whole uni process? I know it got mentioned before in this thread but links and stuff will be greatly appreciated.(y)

Yeah you will need Alevels or something equivilant as you will need something like 230 ucas points i think it is for a full degree course which is basically 1 b and 2 c's in alevel results iirc.
