My 1968 Fiat 500L arrived w/ one set of keys.
From the patina and wear, these appeared to be original to the vehicle. There is one for the dashboard ignition switch, one that works in either door exterior pushbutton lock and one that works in the exterior rear engine lid pushbutton lock.
My hope / plan / preference is to have additional sets of fully functional keys, in case something happens to the original / only set, or for other purposes.
As all members know, the blanks for these old keys are currently unusual.
My online search revealed these key blanks to be appropriate and available. All were purchased on eBay. For all the key blank manufacturer is JMA.
For the ignition, the JMA part number is FEM-1D, for the door the JMA part number is AF-4I and for the engine the JMA part number is AF-6D. Note that the door blank is significantly longer than the existing key, but the cutting operation decreases the length to match.
All the originals and blanks were brought to my local (ancient) hardware store to be cut. In one case they screwed up and I needed to purchase an additional door blank.
Now my vehicle has three full sets of fully functional keys and I feel much better about that aspect.
