I have a 1998 mk1 bravo hgt and have been using it from 98. The problem is sudden loss of power. It is a 147 hp (108kw) car but when tested in the dynamometer the result is 100hp. Now, the car is in 116087 kms. In 90570 kms cambelt and clutch plate were changed at a authorised dealer of fıat and there is no problem with this operation. However, we opened cylinder head cover and check the work done by the dealer by locking the camshaft at the peak with its original tools. One for the induction and the other for the manifold. The camshaft and crankshaft belt sprockets are in the same relative positions. The result is everything seems ok. Secondly, we made a carbon clean and after this we cleaned the injectors with ultrasound machine thinking that the injectors will be stuffed but there is again no progress. Thirdly, we changed the fluxmeter which is located between the air filter box and butterfly valve. The result is the same there is no change. After these we took off catalytic converter if its life time was over but the result is same. At the same time we changed the ECU with a brand new one but again the same result. Besides, we all changed spark plugs, oil, oil filter , air filter and fuel filter with new ones. We also looked the pressure of the fuel pump, the pressure is ok. Car is checked with examiner in the authorised dealer but there is no error code and all the emission values are so normal. We did not change lambda sensor because the staff at the dealer said that if there is a problem with that sensor the examiner gives error code. Some people said there will be problem in the MAP sensor. If so, can a MAP sensor cuts 1/3 power of a car? Some said that clean the EGR valve. Is there a EGR valve in Bravo HGT? If there is, where is its location? My engine is in a good condition and there is no need for a major rebuilt (the dealer said that). The loss can not be caused from the condition of the engine. In my opinion, I have a sensor problem but which sensor is faulty? Can it be an electric problem? I need a urgent help asap. If I can not solve the problem I am going to sell my car because there is no driving pleasure for me after this problem.
Note: This problem does not begin after the cambelt change but we also checked work done by the authorised dealer.
Can anyone help me ???????
