Hi I notice a very rusty pipe connection on my car, I took it to a mechanic, but he said that I have take it to a fiat garage, but I really worried about the cost to replace it. Some one know what piece is that and the normal price to replace it? Thanks

The pink colour is leaking coolant, look like it's at the connection, but that pipe is known to get pin holes in it

If it's the connection it might just need the clip replacing

The pipe is fairly easy to replace yes it a punto but the idea is the same

I suspect the heatshield bolts might need cutting off though

Not really a main dealer job

Need doing ASAP any coolant loss isn't good plus it will also be sucking in air as it cools down

I am surprised a mechanic is not interested in fixing

This is a very common problem, and easily fixed. Once the heatshield is removed (threading it around the exhaust is a bit like doing a metal puzzle), it's pretty obvious what needs to be done.

Definitely don't go anywhere near a main dealer; I doubt you'd have any change out of £300+VAT if you do. If noone local to you wants to take this on (and frankly I can't see why they wouldn't), then there's an independent Fiat specialist just north of Southampton that's worth making the journey for.

If you do it yourself, (not particularly hard), just syphon out the coolant; it'll save you the grief that often comes with disconnecting the bottom hose, and if you're short of cash you can even reuse it.

But don't leave it; these engines are prone to HG failure if run with insufficient coolant, and if this happens, the repair will be a lot more expensive.

It's a steel tube, it plugs into the water pump, that seal may be a problem if you disturb it..🤔

But access on your car looks OK 🙂

If it's the coolant pipe across the front of the engine it's a fairly simple job, but access can be a nightmare. You'll probably find you can't move the heat shield without damaging it, not that this really matters.

Unbolt it, pull it out, get it out of the way. Put in the new one. There is a rubber gasket on one end that got stuck, but I was able to pry out with a long screwdriver. Refill with coolant.

Actually doing the job only took me about 10 minutes. Trying to get the old pipe out from behind the radiator, and get the new pipe in, took about 2 hours.
