Hi there I have a 1.2 16v active stilo (2003) and it has developed an issue...
A few weeks ago it started running a bit lumpy on idle literally bouncing from 0 to 1500 rpm every second.
It would start and then die again straight away, I first thought it may be blocked injectors so I bought some redex and it did seem to help a little (maybe placebo effect) but I still have the same issue.
Seems intermittent sometimes It will start and drive fine and other (mostly) times it will be lumpy and die..
It seems to do it most in 1st and reverse gear, for example if I am above 10mph then it will be fine but if I am stuck in traffic or at the lights then the idle will bounce or it will die altogether.
I have read a few posts but they all seem to suggest different things.
I have checked the oil and is no "mayo" an the runnning temporature seems to be fine, I have also recently had it serviced (4 months ago) and was running fine afterwards.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I am leaning towards thinking it is a fueling issue, but as the fuel filter is in the tank I haven't checked or replaced it yet, was also thinking it may be the throttle body? Am I on the right track or barking up the wrong tree?
Kind Regards
Andy
