Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

I have those exact wheels mine are silver and they look awesome, they will go much better with the light colour of your car ;) my car is black but they still look lush. As for the photoshopped pink car.... it has made my eyes bleed! haha

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

Well what a ****ty day, i went on the motoway yesterday and it was vibrating quite bad, so i checked the wheels out and let some air out as they where well out, went for a drive and it seemed smoother but still vibrating, then on the way home a guy flag me down and said my wheel at the back was wobbling like crazy, so i took it to a garage and its buckled:(

Also he checked the balance on the others and none were right, so i am offically bad mouthing normanton tyres in normanton, as they conned me, i went and complained that they had done **** all for the money i gave them and long story short they siad **** off.

So i am now looking for a new sporting wheel but cant find any, if anyone does please let me know.

If they had balanced them badly then they would of been vibrating since when you first put them back on. If it was buckled then its not their fault. If they spotted it when balancing it then yes they should of told you. Did you check that they were all bolted up properly? A buckled wheel wont be vibrating around for someone following to see it physically moving.

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

I have been to a specialist amd it is just the one thats buckled, they told me they might be able to straighten it but cant promise owt, so i have left it with them, they kindy checked the rest and confirmed none were balanced, but said it wouldnt vibrate much as the tyres are heavy and ofset it. Hopefully all will be sorted on tue and at worse the wheel will need a quick respray.

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

Thats bullsh*t. If a wheel isnt balanced, it will vibrate regards of tyre weight. The wheels themselves might not of been that far off balance so didnt require a lot of weights. For all you know the wheel weights may have come off while driving, i have had it happen to me before.

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

No seriously mate, i checked them out when i picked them up each wheel had 25g stuck on mixture of the inside and out and it was the same when i got them checked twice, they full on didnt balance them, so i will never say a good thing about them again. i was talking to a mate with a laguna and he said he went to get some tyres from them and apparently they ripped the tyre pressure sensors off the rims which are £50 each and claimed they fell off. Normanton tyres = cowboys

And they did vibrate, but only when i got it up to about 60

Some smaller garages dont know properly about the pressure sensors. Had it on my Dads Cayenne where they broke one of them and those cost a lot more than £50 a corner :p

They know now though and havent had any problems since.

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

well when i got home after getting them checked, i had to jack the car up to put my old ones back on , so i gave it a couple of turns to show ze father and its was coming about about 30mm and going back in again, i cant believe i didnt notice it to be honest, mind i park against a wall and i never see that side of the car lol

hopefully all is well tommorrow :). my wind delfectors are on the way and i am off to the scrappys on the way home to see if i can pick up some new interior pieces, if i am lucky i might nab some abarth skirts as the dude says hes got some sportings in :D

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

just a little update, i have found a new wheel and i am currently respraying it to match my existing ones, i am just waiting for the primer to dry and i hope to get the paint and laqure on at the weekend.

i have recently just put wind deflectors on, and today between coats i matt black vinyled the c piller on the doors as i felt the deflectors looked out of place, but now it looks sweet:)

ill get pics up when i am done:)

anyone got any ideas for interior? as thats where i want to focus my attention on now.

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

i did but i got an insurance quote and its an extra £60 premium :( ill wait until next year and then get some when i have 4yr no claims so it wont be as much then. i like the look of them but not enough to pay £100 to buy insure and paint them lol.

if i do anymore to the outside it will be cc mirrors, bump strips and handles.

holy sht , they dont increase your performance tho at all lol, i thought mine was bad by not letting me get lowerd 35mm n having an induction kit

good choice on colour code tho, im the happest iv been with my motor in a while now its colour coded.

im gonna get abarth skirts and a stilo splitter on next i think, then smooth the back badge then over time in a year or so see if they will let me get lowerd

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

they were my exact words lol, i know its stupid, the alloys were free to add, and my induction cost £5 god knows why skirts are so much.

yeah b lol, i know it looks so much better now, i might jizz when i get the wheels back on lol

oooo i would like to do the entire interior, my first job would defo be seats lol, does the 147 door cards and stuff fit or is it just the seats?

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

i always thought big leather seats in a small 1.2 hatchback punto looked abit silly, each to there own tho, i guess its mostly for comfort, id rather bang some bucket seats in ;p;p

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

lol

Just the seats, fronts are straight swap, rears need brackets moved.

What door cards have you atm?

I had those blue fabric ones, changed them to the black fabric with the plastic part along the window.

Few other ideas for interior, change vents (some Audi's have similiar size vents, TT)

or spray current 1s, black vent with silver ring is probably most common.

Sporting steering wheel

Sporting center console

Dials with tachometer

How is the alloy looking so far? I got all 4 of mine filled and primed today, just waiting for them to dry off after rubbing down for another coat of primer. Then its Gun Metal Time!

Re: Opinions welcome guys :)

i have the horrible blue door cards, which are lined with sand from the previous owner, i hoover them all the time but more sand just appears, i figure the doors are filled with sand to be bullet proof like on topgear lol.

yeah i like the sporting seats too, and which no aircon i dont think i would enjoy summer lol. if i could i would love to get those black and goldy/cream ones that i have seen in a few mk2b's and then fit black door cards but i have never seen any for sale anywhere, i gather its because they are so nice no one wants to sell them :yum:.

the wheel is coming on fine, its straight so i am pleased, it only had minor kerb damage so i just put a little epoxy on and sanded down. the primer has gone on fine, just a few speckles but ill litly sand it down before colour coat.

yay gunmetal! it looks **** hot, its not dark and its not light its right in the middle.(y)

as for the exaust, i am waiting for the whole thing to go (not far off trust me :p) then i have an excuse and can maybe get a straight though pipe maybe going to a twin compact behind the rear vents:slayer:
