Been having similar thoughts myself Steve, but I just can't bear to part with mine, even though she's been off the road for 2 years, and needs some serious money spending on her. I'm determined to get her up and running for this summer.... but I said that this time last year...
I'm semi-retired now, and would like to do some proper long-distance continental Grand Touring. Trouble is, I don't think my B's the right car for that, and it's quite a luxury to keep her just for short jaunts around East Anglia when the sun's shining. Decisions, decisions...
If I was sure that I could part with my B without regretting it, I would, but there are too many happy memories for that to happen. I'm fortunate to have space in my barn to store her, so for the time being she sits there, gently mouldering away. Unquestionably the best £3k I've ever spent!
I should probably just bite the bullet and spend some money sorting her out, and buy something more suitable for the long-distance stuff! (My latest temptation is an XKR - an expensive way of covering big distances in style, but you only live once!)
