Styling Best way to tint/smoke tail lights?

I have a metallic blue GP but I think the red tail lights are a bit too much and I want to tone them down a bit, I don't want to fully black them out but I want to smoke or tint them.
I still want them glossy which is why I am leaning towards the smoke wrap which is similar to window tint but I've tried wrapping before and I do a good job but I struggle a bit that's why I'm thinking of smoke spray and do like 8-10 very very light coats.

Anyone recommend any products or brands? Also anyone recommend any good inexpensive alloys, my punto looks a bit "tame" with the standard 15 inch alloys

Agree with Andy, Abarth rear lights are much nicer than the originals and neater than tinted lights.

.. Tinted rear are legal, as long as the reflector still reflects, which even almost black ones still do

but best way for me was
Sugar Soap, acrub
High grade wet dry sanding
mask car
spray with eTECH tint spray
get desired darkness
