Technical 02 plate punto 1.2 8v

hi people for some reason my punto will struggle to start in this very cold weather.
when you start it you have to give it some throttle to start it off
so you are revving it to get to run
i have changed the map sensor
when warm the car runs and starts perfectly
can anyone suggest things to try?

You already partly answered your question.... Very cold weather

everything, like us, gets it harder to do everything in the cold

and the cold tends to damage batterys which then just about start the car

thank you for your reply but the car turns over ok and no sign of a dead or sluggish battery
when you start the car from cold you have to give it throttle which you shouldnt have to do

Engine temp sensor may be on it's way out.

But it's not been that cold.
