Hi all,

My dad has just picked up a second hand Fiat Panda Active '06 plate. My OH has a Panda Active '04 plate.

He rang me and told me that when he takes the key out of the ignition, he hears 3 beeps - which doesn't happen on my OH's panda.

He's been told it's the immobiliser, but there's nothing I can see in the manual that mentions 3 beeps? Can anyone confirm or advise what it is?

Are you sure it's an Active and has a manual gearbox (with clutch pedal)?

The Dualogics (automated manual-no clutch pedal) tend to beep 3 or four times if the gear selector hasn't been left in the correct position when the ignition is turned off.

I ask as I don't recall if Actives came with this gearbox option,
 
Yeah pretty sure it's a manual gearbox - (I've asked him just to be sure), but he's only ever drove a manual and probably would have been put off if there was no clutch!
 
Sounds like a Dualogic . Beeps when you switch ignition off when gearbox left in Neutral , so you remember to put handbrake on.

you've got us all guessing here, :)
I've got 2 x 1.1 Actives - '04 and '07..neither of them do it..??:confused:

what engine does it have..?

:idea:maybe it's got an aftermarket device / alarm / RCL that beeps.

Thanks folks.

With nobody experiencing it, I too thought it must be an aftermarket device! Got him to send me the details of his stereo and low and behold, that was it!

He wasn't removing the stereo fascia so it was alerting him, if he removes it first then turns the ignition off, the beeping doesn't happen.
