There I was, after washing the engine on my 4x4 (with the inlet covered of course), staring at the absence of a plenum chamber and seeing the diminutive SINGLE butterfly in the inlet throat.

Then it got me wondering, what can be done to improve that lot right there. I'm not one for gimicky add-ons that promise the moon and stars. I'm looking for real world improvements that don't just amount to big sound and a smile on your face.

So, that being said, is there a larger throttle body from another Fiat product that can be a simple bolt-on?
What will the behaviour of the electronics be if I rip the fly-by-wire unit off all together and replace it with a good old fashioned cabled unit.
What about the inlet manifold. Is there someting from another Fiat model that'll fit straight on but with better flow?

I'm asking all this 'cause on the E46 shape BMW engineers gained 30kW on the 3L engine simply by working on the induction system from the head all the way to point of entry. A good 18% I believe.
That would mean around 8kW in a Panda, and that would not be something to scoff at.

Is there anybody technically oriented that can answer these for me?:bang:

Thousands view and hundreds comment on "projects" but I cannot get one response?

Could just be that no one has done it dude so they don't know what to say!
Might be worth you looking at what the rally cars ran as they had 1.2 engine with I think 140bhp!
