General Panda Cross on the way

I don't think you can get the Privilege scheme unless you are Fiat staff or Police, but you will get the Affinity scheme which is 17% off, plus low rate finance.

Haven't had the email about the British Cycling Scheme but it's always been the same offers as the police ones in the link a few posts above. Could well be tempted if it is that discount for this quarter.

Seems strange for such a big discount to be applied for this quarter , you'd have thought that it wouldn't need much help to sell a 4x4 with winter coming up.

I can confirm that the Fiat Motor Club scheme covers both the Affinity & Privilege Plan, not sure about any of the others. (y)

So are you saying join the fiat motor club and receive the discounts?

Yes, that's one guaranteed way of qualifying. I don't know how easy it is to join the other organizations (cycling, CSMA, IAM, etc), what the cost is, or what their deals are. FMC membership is £25, and confirmation of the scheme is on the forum page of their website (specific deals are never published as it's meant to be sensitive, but for Fiat models are the ones you've seen elsewhere). (y)

Cheers for that. Really enjoyed my test drive, but 16.5k is really too much considering how well my trusty 06 4x4 is going. 3.5k off could make it a different story however......

Just ordered a Cross, arrives December. Tested a yellow demo TA and was amazed, first go in a twin air and I thought I would really suffer in the "go" department as my current car is a Fabia VRS and the last a 156 GTA. I had that much fun that I simply didn't notice the HP deficit. First Fiat since a much loved Punto GT turbo which itself replaced one of the first 16v Coupes in the UK.

Everything the Cross can do is probably in excess of what I need (Trekking!) but I WANT a Cross, despite the fact it appears to have ram raided Halfrauds whilst covered in velcro

Even ordered the Panda Paw pillar badges!

That made me laugh! :D

We liked the Yellow and the red so obviously bought a Tuscany green one! I really like the copper dash, looks classy but I can see why some would be uncomfortable with it. The upholstery is a bit hair shirt, looks ok but I would prefer the Pumpkin in the standard 4x4.

With all this talk of discount schemes, thought I'd share this screenshot from the CSMA Carshop (CSMA, originally the Civil Service Motoring Association, membership is open to a wide variety of staff from ex-Public Sector businesses)... Love the 'inverse discount' on the Antarctica!
Columns are 'list price', 'our price' and 'saving'

I've been trying to think of what the Cross reminded me of, and then I remembered. 10.30 mins in gives you the best shot of the Panda Cross coming in to view................

Didn't stop us ordering ours today though. :D

Barbara (Panda Mo on the Forum) loved it from the first time she saw pictures of it in the press a couple of months ago. It looks even better in the flesh. The interior, including the copper dash, is fine in reality. Ok, they probably could have done a better job if they'd tried, but we'll happily live with it.

The colour choices were pretty uninspiring in our view and we were initially going to order the 'no cost option' of white then paint it ourselves in any colour we wanted, but having seen the yellow demonstrater we've opted for that instead. Our feeling was that it was already a stand out car thanks to all the Halfraud-esque trimmings so lets just go with it and choose the most stand out colour. Have you seen how many black, grey, silver cars there are on the roads these days!!! It will be like sunshine on a cloudy day, certainly made Barbara smile every time she looked at it. :)

Delivery will be in December for us too, but if it's mid to late December we'll probably wait until next year before registering it.

Yes the range of colours is limited to say the least, we figured that a Tuscany green version will look like an expensive welly. Some pictures on t'interweb show an acid green Cross but it seems it's wishful thinking, would have had that one like a shot.

Yes so would we! In fact that was the colour I would have painted a white one had we gone that route. Ford do a very nice pearl version of acid green for thier high powered version of the Focus, I would probably have gone for that, it has a silveriness to it that would have complimented the sump guards etc well.

But the yellow is a little cracker :) I'd be tempted to get the dash wrapped in yellow too ;)

I do wish it had less drab seats. If you could only get them with yellow & black sports seats, like the ones in my DS3, I might well be reaching for my cheque book!

You can never have too much yellow.

We are on exactly the same wavelength, the RS Focus green is one of if not the favourite colour of both me and she who must be obeyed. (y)

Still, two cars ago had a Yeti (Giant Panda) great car but the paint options were utterly miserable even compared to the Cross.

Kind of standing on one leg when it comes to the upholstery, SHMBO didn't think much of it at all but liked the comfort and "high up" seating position. I suspect it may grow on me. And what the heck is "eco leather" vinyl I suspect:p

That's why I got an orange 4x4!
