Haha that all makes sense now.

My mums got a 2010 smart CDI and the gearbox is appalling. Makes getrag look a bit bad really. The smart would definitely be a better car with a manual or full auto box

I used to own a smart brabus (mclaren) and while the lag in the gearbox was dreadful the car was alot of fun that said the brabus is a totally different animal compared tot he standard smart.

Well finally did it and ended up with a Abarth... I pick it up tomorrow :slayer:

Around town and country roads etc my 1.2 is fab. You have to use the gears quite a bit as there's no pull at lower revs but it's great fun and nice high siting position.


For motorways though not good. If you are cruising at 70MPH in 5th, anything uphill at all will mean your speed drops away and you have to drop it into 4th to keep the speed up. This is the reason we're trading up to a new Twin Air 105.

As soon as I take receipt of the little fella I will post him up, hopefully get it over the weekend
