Lol no offence taken, however I have been driving for 20yrs and live in Scotland, so I have a good knowledge of how to drive in all weather conditions :) Was just curious as to what she would be like, however shovel, rock salt and wellies are always standard in my boot whatever the car.

Will give her a wee test tomorrow :D

Too true it is the knowledge that the guy behind in hot 500 still has loads of plukes (spots) and is a snow virgin. Of the girl coming in other direction spinning like ballerina...

Either should slow you down a bit...

To be honest you should be OK in a pop as long as it's got the standard wheels. It would be even better to buy some winter tyres and have them fitted to another set of wheels but it's up to you of course.

Only having my 1200 pop 3 months and fitted with 16 multispoke 195 low profile Continentals It would appear I may experience some problems if I get any snow in my neck of the woods, so I cannot comment as yet but the old trick of lowering the tyre pressures down to get more rubber on the road would appear not to apply to the pop if fitted with wider tyres.

Will just have to see, perhaps it could also be that the 500 is quite light at the front and does not give weighted traction over the drive wheels. If the weather does get to bad I wont chance it and reley on shankseys pony. My old Beetle used to have a bag of sand in the front to give weight over the steering wheels the weighty rear engine then gave good traction to its drive wheels.

Trust me, this was my road last night and it only got worse during the evening when it froze. Your 500 wouldn't have been so surefooted up there that's for sure.

Countless cars have been getting stuck around our house and I'm sure those people probably thought their cars were surefooted too

No slush there at all, just pure compacted ice :)

Thats actually a really nice picture. (y)

Snow hasn't got to us yet but I'm actually now starting to get a bit nervous of how well my 500c's roof will cope with a foot of snow on it! It never occurred to us when we got it back in April. After seeing the pics posted with a thick layer of snow on the roof, I'm even more nervous now of how the 500c's roof will cope with the weight! Last year our qashqai had a seriously thick (heavy) layer....

Anyone had any experiences? We have had poor winters lately so I really should have considered it back then but my wife was blinded by desire at the time! No garage to keep it in and snow guaranteed at some point as we are on the side of a Welsh mountain......

With snow tyres it's pretty darn good :)

An inch and a half of snow and I was happily overtaking people on the way into work today :D

I'm more worried about the 500c's roof collapsing or sagging under the weight of snow!
I've little/no knowledge or experience of convertibles :p But I've never heard of it being a problem on mx5's and the like so I'd imagine it would be alright but perhaps it'd be a good idea to make sure no massive accumulations of snow get on the roof.

Diesel 500 sport is brilliant in the snow! Bog standard too with factory fit Dunlop sport tires! It's a little snowplow! I stopped behind a BMW X5 which took 5 attempt the get up a wee hill, he must had thought f*** it and parked at the bottom of the hill! Should had seen his face when I crawled passed him in ma wee 500! Priceless! And to think it's a 6th of the cost of his big drug dealer 4x4! Lol! I had the snow up above the fog lights, and I stopped when it was just below the base of the doors so I could get some pics, jumped back in, into first and feet off everything! Never got stuck once! I have been in the car for atleast 8 hours a day every day while it's been snow/ice! :) well happy with it! But.... All the crawling kills the dpf! Got the spare 1.2 petrol at the moment while mines is keeping cozy in arnies workshop! :-( again just a standard sport! You can't even look at snow without it feeling twitchy and unsafe! It feels way too light at the front, and just seems to get stuck at the drop of a hat!
Just have to remember 'slow and steady wins the race!' lol! I'll try and get the pics on soon! :)

Heres my snowplow, up to the doors in snow :D, and pics after it was cleaned then the dpf sensor decided to break, then had to clean the spare! :bang:
