hi all, was wondering about fitting an oil catch tank to my exxey.... thought i'd help the enviroment and all that... and i thought it would look cool on where the cooling fan is bolted. oh yeah and i'm binning the standard air filter for a k&n one.

but its mainly to help the enviroment of course.......

The aim is to make sure that the tank is level and can be drained.

Some catch tanks have a single pipe inlet with a vent in the cap to relieve pressure, others have an inlet and an outlet with the outlet going back into the induction system.

It's you choice which one you use but the single inlet ones tend to smell pretty unpleasant as the oil curdles from condensation but if your new air filter doesn't have a oil vent connection then you have a choice of one...

I fitted a catch tank and have to admit as standard was not impressed, photo attached to show how I fitted it. I modified by putting internal pipe work breathing through a screen, this slows the gas flow and condenses the vapour, I don't catch much oil but about 1/2 pint of water per week
