General is it possible to fit punto engine in uno mk2?

General is it possible to fit punto engine in uno mk2?
i have fiat uno mk2 70s 1.4
my engine is dieing
so in the next few months ill have to sell it or replace engine
is it possible to fit punto 1.6 or punto gt 1.4 engine?

ive seen the GT engine fits the uno but the uno doesnt fit the GT.
GT engine has an extra engine mount.
dont know about exhausts,wires etc though im afraid.

You're wrong mate i've seen an uno turbo engine fitted into a mark 1 punto. However it was a mark 1 uno turbo engine so if you mean the mark 2 engine doesnt fit then maybe you're right there as i havent seen this conversion done yet.
Saying that though i would've thought the mark 2 uno turbo engine is similar to the punto gt engine and would be easier to fit???

the mark 2 uno turbo engine is the same block as the punto gt is it not
surely the only diference is engine mounts and they can be swaped i think you might need to swap water pumps as this is also an engine mount
then again you could go all out and put the 2.0 16 valve in as this is the same block as the 1.7 diesel fited to the uno so all you need is uno diesel water pump for engine mount and some variouse other mounts also an uno diesel gearbox shafts weel bearings suspension excetera whould be needed to suport the engine
mabey you could nick one out of an coupe with turbo an all to boot that whould fly

why not the 1.2/1.4 sporting engines they've both got more power than existing engine decent mpg and much lighter than other engines suggested i think 1.4 is lighter than 1.2 and have heard 1.4 is easier to fit well in a cinq anyway and you have more room
