Dear Team,
I have a 1993 Fiat Uno 1.0 ie, right hand drive version. The speedometer doesn't work since I have it (8 months now). I decided to fix it, and it turned out, that the problem is that the speedometer cable between the transmission and the speedometer itself.
I tried to buy a new one, but apparently nobody has it. I can buy it anytime for the left had drive car, but unfortunately all these versions are too short. The "normal" European left hand drive versions are between 89 and 107 cm, but the "English" version is at least 150 cm long.
Can you give me an advise, where to look? It would help also, if anybody could tell me the serial number of this part?
I live in Malta, but I am ready to buy it from anywhere.
Thank you very much for your help.
Imre

Thank you, I sent you a PM.

Actually, I tried to find it in other websites too.

fiatdalys.lt says there are many part numbers for this part. (I wanted to give you the full web address, but the system does not let me copy in) Maybe 46 419 961 could be the one, as per supp info it is for right hand drive. But I can't beleive it costs almost 90 EUR...

I think I found it in the meantime. The part number is 46419961.
Thank you very much for your effort!

Your VIN decodes to:

MR - UNO R/89 900-1.0-1.1 (1989-1995)
146.162.2.0 - 1000 SPI USA'83 BASE SS.START-FIRE 5P
Engine: 51***** Vehicle: 0******4 Prod. date: 12/11/1993

Actually looks like the early original P/N was 7785022 which was replaced by 46437212 from date 15/09/1993. This change included a gearbox cable drive cog change. As your vehicle was produced in 12/11/93 then it must be 46437212 which is the correct P/N.

This is what I conclude but can not accept any liability if anything is incorrect. You can use the ePER on this website to validate yourself.

:yeahthat:

ePER on top of this page, indeed.
It's Fiat's parts program, whit lot's of exploded vieuws, very informative.
Sometimes ( or rather often...) it's busy with other Forum members, so you can't acces it.
Buy your own ePER CD is a good option:
