Right ive had some probs lately, justy little ones!
the car seems to be running poorly sometimes and the other day it was pinking, after abit of disagnostics :p think we've got it sussed to vacuum advance!
today at cut out at idle (running temp just over 90degrees) and wouldnt start for a while.
my dad tested vacuum advance and reckons he can suck through the hose continuously with the other blocked!

ive done some reading and read about the ignition modules but im not sure which it could be

anyone got a spare? Louie or Chas? :D
only need engine running for another 6 months or so! ;)

You confused me when you said your dad tested the vacuum advance by sucking through the hose continuously with the other blocked! did he test the vacuum advance unit or the hose?

you can get the vacuum advance unit from shop4parts.co.uk if it's for your 1.0 uno and I'm guessing you should be able to get the vacuum pipe from a general motor shop.

if the pipe is all thats gone then you can tape the whole thing up for a very quick fix but don't rely on it lol.

Dan

As above: It seems you need to replace the vacuum pipe then try the test your Dad did again. Do the test with the dist cap off, and check to see that the points move. Hold the vacuum on, the points should not move back until you release the vacuum.
