Just trying this image link process.

Here's a pic of my Uno FIRE engine after some cleaning and polishing.

I'm off to bed now! Sorry if I've posted too much today.....

nice, it actually looks like mine:p. Didn´t your arms get sore from the polishing, mine were for almost a week then again i polished the whole engine and aluminium rims(out of fiat 127 special)mine is a panda though:D

If you have any questions don´t be afraid, ask away. I´ll be glad to help.

It wasn't too bad actually Smokeme, as I tend to do cleaning in stages. First I cleaned the engine and engine bay using simple parafin and an old paint brush to shift the oil and grease. Washed it off with a hosepipe (making sure I'd protected the electrics first!), and then polished the inner wings. That made it a much nicer place to work in!

For the cam cover, I removed it and using some alloy cleaner (acid type) to shift a lot of the alloy corrosion. Then I used wet and dry paper (started with harsh grit and progressed to smooth) to rub it down. After that it was a few hours with Autosol to polish the alloy up to a nice shine. Took about an afternoon to get it that shiny. End result looks pretty good I think.

I know what you mean about the alloy wheels though. They take an AGE to polish up but it helps you build your biceps! I have a set of Fiat X1/9 alloys that I will refurbish to put on my Uno when I finally get round to it. Too many other things taking up my time at the moment though :-(

Have you any pictures of your Panda?
