Hi

Can anyone tell me how this works? It is not explained in the manual given with my car.

It is part of the trip computer. I can switch it on, and was under the assumption it takes road speed info off the NavTech disk, and warns you if you are speeding. BUT warnings seem to come up for overspeed all the time, depending on when I switched it on i.e. doing 50 in Nationals. There is also a Programming Mode - what is this for? I am confused....[who said again?]

Hi,

You use the programming option to set the speed of the overspeed. It basically just sets it at the speed you are going at the time you press the button.

Seems a bit pointless to me.

Hi,

out of curiousity, how do you set the speed buzzer limit? I thought with the cruise control system, this kind of facility is redundant, but sometimes i can think of instances when it can be useful... izzit the right button on the steering display panel (the left button resets (or zeroes) the tripmeter, right?)

FYI, i'm in malaysia and if it has anything to do with the navsat system then i guess i can forget it.:(

Hi Poggy!

Is that all it does? Absolutely pointless - I was under the impression it took details off the disk i.e. you can switch it on by a long key hold - coz disk in all the time, then it took speed data off that and compared to current vehicle speed - warnings would then come up accordingly. I presume you could then override that data by using the 'programming' feature! As usual, nothing in my manual.

Oh well!

Hi,

I thought it would take the info off the disk, but I suppose it is a dodgy legal area if the speed limit changed after the disk was produced and you just took notice of the nav computer.

Anyway I programmed just like I used to on the BMW system and it worked, but I can't honestly see the point.
