I have a '92 1600 Tipo, it has a Carb setup, which to say the least, is crap :bang: ! It is very temperamental when cold, and still is when at optimum running temperature. I have been considering replacing it with an injection system. Other than purchasing the system and fitments from another 1600, will I need to replace the ECU in order to accommodate the system, as well as the manifold and any other parts to control the system etc? I am fairly sure the bulk of the engine is the same throughout the range, other than larger bores, pistons etc. Would the injection setup be suitable for what was once a carb?
I'm just looking for a smoother, more responsive drive rather than performance.
Has anyone else tried a similar project?
