Hi everyone, just joined to see a list of everything my car has wrong lol.

My name is Gareth, and I live in South Cumbria. I've been a Grande owner for approx. 3 months now and things are starting to happen.

1. EGR Valve has gone.
2. Front drivers door won't open from the inside (happened today)
3. washers don't hit the window ( was amazed to find no adjustment)
4. Water running from tailgate (will fix myself i think)
5. dash trim lifted at one side ( not do-able under 3rd year)

The EGR valve problem hasn't really affected the car thank God, I can still get around at a fairly brisk pace. The front drivers door thing is annoying ( and doesn't do much for street cred!). I asked about geting the door lock fixed under 3rd year warranty, and the girl said I'd have to ask the warranty manager.. He will be getting a proper good asking, I can tell you!

Washers.....OMG... no adjustment ??? How cheap is a couple of washer jets for Gods sake lol. I didn't realise the Italians were that hard up.

So there you go, thats why I joined. That and to find answers to the question that is:-

Did I make the right decision buying a Fiat?

Well, up to now, its been a nice car, and I hope after the faults have been fixed, it will be one again.

usually you can adjust the washer jets with a pin, stick it down the jet and align it in the right position..jobs a good un.
As for the rest of the probs, i cant help but sure somebody on here can.

Hello mate and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!! :wave:

Sorry to hear about the troubles you've been having with your Grande.

If you have a search down in the Grande Punto section, you will see that a majority of those faults (in fact almost all) are common and known about by fiat dealers and are easily fixable.

Once they are sorted im sure you will see that you did make the right choice buying a Fiat.

OK Guys, I have an update for you on my problems.. Sorry for the long delay between posts, but I've had other things to contend with as well.

EGR valve:- Fixed under warranty

Door handle:- Fixed under warranty

Water inside rear hatch:- Welding is POO!!.. Put clear silicone right round the weld and the high level brake light. problem solved

Washer jets not hitting window:- Propped up with bits of plastic ( bit like my bank account!!! )

I now have the grinding noise whan I turn right, but I think I've sussed that.

Theres a plate behind the brake discs that I think is catching on the edge of the disc. The disc has a wear lip of 2 or 3 mil. If I grind this off, I hope to stop the noise (someone else has done this). I'll post up my results as soon as I've done it.

Apart from that, the cars been ok. I even treated it to some new wheels
